New Hotel, Large Room for family of 4
I brought my family of 4 to London for a week, (daughters ages 21 and 15). Our room was spacious, and everyone had their own bed. I was jet-lagged and was able to find space in the room to turn on a light and read away from everyone sleeping. We used the Tower Hill Tube Station which was right down the street from the hotel. We found several good places to eat breakfast and lunch that were around the corner from the hotel. For dinner, we ventured out to St Katherines Dock and even to the restaurants across the Tower Bridge.
If you plan to use the Underground, find out about the Oyster card. We bought everyone a 1 week pass and never had to use the ticket booth all week. If you are looking for free WiFi, try Pret A Mange. They are located throughout London with one about 2 blocks from the hotel. We ate breakfast and sometimes lunch there. They ask for your email address and then you have free access to the internet.

Wonderful stay
We have had the privilege of having stayed at great places throughout our travels, and The Grange City was another great experience to add on that list of ours. Truly a great place, the staff is outstanding! Definitely a hotel we will go back to again.

Outstanding! Would definately return.
Great hotel in an unexpected location... we found it down a smaller street, almost an alley. The inside definitely did not reflect our expectations from the outside. Check in was very quick and Im guessing it was a slow weekend, because they gave my son & I a room upgrade to a business double - we both had queen sized beds. Good sized bathroom (very clean), walk-in closet, well-stocked & computerized mini-bar. The view left a little to be desired. We had a great vantage point of the local train station in the next building over! The room was well insulated and we never heard a single track rumble though. The Concierge service was spot-on. They directed us to several different locations (food, walking tours, etc.) which we enjoyed. This is the second Grange hotel my family has stayed at and weve been impressed both times. Definite return location in our books!
Traveler's tip on dining
I dont recall the name of the pub, but it is a 2 minute walk from the hotel at the corner of Trinity Square & Byward Street (across the street from the Tower of London & the Navy war monuments). It was a great pub food at an EXCELLENT price. I had the Cottage Pie & my son had the fish & chips plus drinks was 10GBP & change. NOTE: the family area is upstairs. Take note of the table number and order at the bar. Our food was out of the kitchen in less than 10 minutes.
