Look forward to staying there again
I highly recommend the elegant, beachfront Hotel Protea Edward for its excellent service, the friendliness and helpfulness of its staff, comfortable accommodations, and very good food. The hotel was just the oasis needed to recover from being intransit for almost 24 hours from the U.S. to Durban. ALthough our sty in Durban was brief, the hotel staff helped us to make the most of our time there. I look forward to a longer stay at this hotel on my next trip to Durban.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Definitely use the hotels most excellent concierge services. They arranged for a wonderful shopping experiemce for us and private city tour on short notice. We even got to visit the African markets to see purveyors of traditional African medical treatments, an experience that most tourists would not have. Our short stay would not have been nearly as enjoyable without their help.
