Best Little Hotel in NYC!
Our stay at the Chelsea Star Hotel went above and beyond my expectations! I booked it for the incredible price. The hotel was clean, close to major attractions, and the staff was amazing! We stayed for three days. The location is very close to Madison Square Garden, a less then ten mintue walk to Times Square, and in a very cool neighborhood of Chelsea. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They had great restuarant suggestions and advice for getting around. After we checked out our shuttle to the airport was late. They went out of their way to call the service and help us get to the airport on time. The other guest were a very nice bunch of folks from around the world. Overall our stay was fantastic and I would definitely stay at Chelsea Star again. I recommend the hotel for everyone!

Creepy
I returned to my room unexpectedly midday and found the door wide open with the lights on. Luckily nothing was stolen. It is the creepiest hotel Ive stayed at. The decor of the halls is bizarre with metal floors and stairways and bright yellow halls with stars on them. I did not feel safe.

quite impressed
We had booked a double room with shared bath, but when we arrived, we were upgraded to one with a private bath, so I was very relieved because the bathrooms were the main concern. It turned out that there was nothing to worry about because the shared baths were very clean. We also had our rooms cleaned and towels changed everyday. However we didnt expect the hotel to be without an elevator, otherwise, we would have brought smaller baggages. Fortunately, the staff were very helpful and helped us with the load upon check-in and when we checked out. The only thing I didnt like was the way the handled luggage storage upon check-out. I didnt think it was securely stored, and I shudder at the thought that anyone could just take my bags away because there were no tags given.
