October in Paris
This October 2009, looking for a nice affordable place, we found this hotel in a very nice neighborhood close to the Seine river, the Ile de la Cite, Saint Germain and the Pantheon. What a location! The room was large by Paris standard, well maintained and the view from the windows was picture perfect. Paris as I knew it in the fifties and the sixties...

Great location
This hotel is located a short walk from the Seine and Notre Dame and another short walk from the Rue Saint Severin area where there is a huge choice of restaurants. It’s also convenient for the Metro. The room we had was small (two twin beds) with a small bathroom, but very adequate for a relatively inexpensive few days of sightseeing in the center of Paris. A faulty light in the bathroom was fixed for us within 24 hours of us reporting it- it wasn’t a simple bulb change operation. The hotel is clean and the reception staff friendly and helpful.

A Great Way to Meet Paris
We were celebrating our 20th anniversary, so I wanted our feel close to the heart of the city for our first visit to Paris. The Abbatial did not disappoint. The room had windows on two sides, so we had sun all day. The service was very friendly. And the location ... a five-minute walk to Notre Dame, three minutes from the Metro, in a neighborhood with plenty of cafes and food from many different cultures. We felt like we found the heart of Paris.

All cafes are not alike ... don’t be afraid to review the prices before you enter. There are plenty of reasonable prices in charming cafes.
