The worst hotel in Budapest
The three star rating for this hotel is a scam, it is a one star hotel. The rooms are small attic rooms (possibly servants quarters in the original building), with a sloping roof on one side, with skylights not windows, without proper blinds so that the room got very hot in the sun.The plumbing is poorly designed so that taking a shower leads to the floor being flooded. The water was just warm enough for a shower but the water to the washbasin was almost cold. The T.V. was a 9" black and white with no remote and no list of available channels. The towels were cheap and grey. The buffet breakfast was pitiable, stale rolls and croisants served repeatedly, same with hard boiled eggs. Synthetic orange juice drink not real, ersatz coffee sludge, undrinkable. Cold meats and cheese of the cheapest quality. The hotel is in a rundown area miles away from anything of interest, so a 40 minute walk and metro ride is necessary to get to town. Either the staff are poorly trained or they have been told to spend as little money as possible, so obvious improvements are not made.

outside city center and old
We were looking for a low budget room for one night and yet still a reasonably convenient location...and that is what we got. Taxi found the site with no problem but then we had some difficult finding front door of hotel as it was tucked in a courtyard away from the street. Location is a 15 minute Metro ride into the city center from station within 3 minute walk. Hotel itself is rather old. Room was basic. Washroom facilities were disappointing especially shower which was in poor condition. TV did not work. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful! And they spoke fluent English. Complimentary continental/buffet breakfast was surprisingly well rounded and of decent quality.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
good value for a 1~2 night stay. If your stay is longer you may want a more upscale hotel
