Perfect Location for those who want to explore a small vibrant area of Paris on foot
The Artus Hotel is located on Rue De Buci, just off of St Germain - a main road in the 6th district. An easy 10-15 minute walk from the RER B/metro line. The staff were friendly and courteous. Sanjay, by far, was our favorite concierge. He helped us set up a reservation for our anniversary dinner at Le Christine and gave us excellent directions and even knew the manager there. He was polite, friendly and always offering to do more for us. We heard that the rooms were small. Maybe by US standards, but we had plenty of space for our 4 nights. All of our clothes fit in the armoire and the room was quite beautiful and comfortable. Our bedroom at home is probably about the same size. We spent our entire trip learning that area of the city on foot. We walked to Notre Dame, the Louvre, The Concord, the Eiffel Tower, the Invalides, The Rodin Museum, the Orsay and the Luxembourg Gardens and became familiar with every street in between. Lots of wonderful cafes in the area and plenty of shopping. Rue de Buci is wonderful in that it is a pedestrian street. On St, Germain near St Germain du Pres is a crepe vendor perfect for a late night nutella crepe. Highly recommend this hotel and its location. It was a perfect trip. While the metro is close by I found it rewarding that we could see so much and really get a feel for the city on foot! Stop down Rue Cler for the market and grab a baguette for lunch!

Very Impressed
This hotel has a terrific location--the Rue de Buci is always throbbing with activity, with loads of cafes, patisseries, etc. Very close to all that is interesting on the Left Bank, and a short walk north takes you to the Seine and the Louvre. The hotel staff was unfailingly attentive and helpful--Sanjay at the front desk especially so. The room itself (a superior) was not spacious, but had a substantial bathroom area, very comfortable bed, complimentary wi-fi, flat screen TV, and an IPod dock/player. The A/C worked beautifully; although it was not very hot during our stay, the proximity to the always-bustling (even at 2am) Rue de Buci made it advisable to close our windows to eliminate street noise. Other than some peeling paint in a few corners of the room, the room was immaculate.
Traveler's tip on dining
Allard is a classic bistrot just 3 blocks away; had terrific escargot and duck confit there. About 5 minutes away is Chez Maitre Paul, another terrific bistrot. Bouillon Racine (also a 5 minute walk) is a lovely Art Nouveau bistrot, 100 yrs old, serving delicious French classics.

Excellent hotel
This hotel was excellent. The location and service were outstanding. Our room was spacious (by European standards) and we enjoyed absolutely everything about this hotel.

Good Choice
Artus is extremely well located, right at the very heart of Saint Germain, close to great options to eat and shop. The staff was very polite and helpful. The room we stayed in was a bit too small, but once we got settled, it worked well.
Traveler's tip on dining
If youre into it, dont miss the escargot at Cafe de Paris on the same Rue de Buci and specially the foie-gras ( and pretty much everything else) at le Comptoir du Relais, just off the Carrefour de lOdeon, only two blocks from the hotel. there maybe some waiting time, but itll be worth it.

Disappointment
We stayed at this hotel 3 times, before the name was changed to Artus, and were very much looking forward to another stay. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and the location is hard to beat. However, after booking 2 months in advance and specifically asking for a quiet room, we were put in what may have been the noisiest room in the hotel. First floor, by the elevator, facing a busy alley. Clanging elevators, banging trashcans, and lots of people noise. The front desk refused to move our room even though we could see other folks checking out. Very disappointing, guess we will be looking for a different hotel next trip to paris.

Excellent Moderately-Priced Hotel in lively, central Area
We had a smallish but comfortable, stylish room, with many thoughtful touches. The shower setup was the best one weve encountered in a 3-star hotel in France - overhead rain shower head, plus handheld sprayer, with a spacious glass enclosure. The air conditioning was quiet and effective. The bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, even though we spoke limited French. The location is in busy Rue Buci, just off Blvd St Germain. There are many cafes and shops nearby and 2 metro lines have stops within a several hundred meters. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to Notre Dame, the Louvre. All told, hard to find any drawbacks.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
For delicious and economical croissants or sandwiches to take out, try Pauls on Rue Buci (1 block away). Also, there is a large market (for central Paris) on the street that crosses Rue Buci at Pauls.

Will definitely stay here again
The service was excellent. Location fabulous. I ended up in a handicapped room but it was likely a bigger space than normal so I didnt mind. Only downside is that it was a street level so not a lot of privacy. Everything was clean and well-designed. I travel a lot for biz - this rom had a nice-size desk and wireless so all good there. Given location, would also be good hotel for pleasure.

Excellent property, well situated and great design sense
I prefer to stay at smaller properties, but with a sense of art and style. The Artus was a "10" on all counts and the staff was great. Patricia at the front desk, in particular, was very helpful. The only downside is the internet access when you have a MAC laptop--I was unable to get online. The lobby area has a PC for sourcing, but with a French keyboard I was lost and had some hot items to address, so had to stick to my Blackberry.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
If you are looking for a high quality hotel that is in St. Germain and all the cool elements of shopping, antiquing and dining nearby, you really cant miss the Artus--I am wild about this property.

Good location, terrible management
The Artus Hotel is in a good location for seeing the sites of Paris and thats why my wife and I chose it. The rooms are really small but hey it is Paris and I was willing to forgive that. What I cannot forgive is the nightmare that followed when the air conditioner broke in our room on the 2nd night of our week stay. It created a horrible racket which prevented us from sleeping. The staff couldnt fix it and didnt have any rooms to move us to. They promised to fix it the next day but their repairman mustve been having an off day because we spent a second sleepless night kept up with terrible noise. Finally on the third day they moved us. The entire time various staff promised that wed recieve some kind of compensation or consideration for this ridiculous state of affairs. The manager never came by or contacted us in any way so I emailed to follow up after getting home. Without understanding the facts of the situation, the manager immediately became incredibly rude and sent me several nasty emails. If this is the kind of service you look for in a hotel, by all means stay at the Artus. Otherwise, you might consider alternatives.

A Gem of a Hotel
I cant say enough about this hotel and the level of service! The hotel is beautifully appointed, clean and modern, and the rooms are quite large for a European hotel. The Artus Hotel is also in a perfect location - the 6th Arrondissement/St. Germain area, which is filled with many cafes and brasseries and is centrally located to all the main attractions in Paris. Finally, someone that made our Paris vacation absolutely perfect was Sanjay, the concierge at the hotel. He takes absolute pride in his job and loves his city. We arrived very eary in Paris (around 8:30 AM, so we arrived at the hotel at about 10:00 AM) and Sanjay worked his magic to check us in early so we could start our day of touring. He also asked us if we had any dinner plans set for our stay... we actually didnt, so he took it upon himself to make dinner reservations for us for each night of our stay. The places he sent us to were local favorites that were moderately priced, not major tourist traps that were outrageously expensive. The places we dined in gave me a deeper appreciation of French cuisine and provided some of my most favorite memories of the trip. My husband and I plan to go to Paris again (hopefully sometime soon) because theres just so much to see that we couldnt fit it into this one trip. We know that we will stay at the Artus hotel again because they made us feel that their hotel was our "home away from home". Cant wait to go back!

Tiny Gem
Perfect small hotel in fun and interestng area of Paris. The Hotel is within walking distance to many major sites, and a block from a Metro stop to get to those too far to which to walk. The rooms, while small, offer all necessary amenities, with modern baths, very comfortable beds, and spotless cleanliness.
Traveler's tip on dining
Make sure and ask the consierge for dining reservations. Ours were perfect and ones that we wouldnt find on our own.

Fit the bill for romantic week!
My husband took me to Paris for my birthday (without children). Artus Hotel was perfect! Right location, right ambiance! The hotel was low key but covered all our needs! Service was very helpful and welcoming. The hotel felt very personal but gave us the attention when we needed it. The only thing they need to upgrade is the computer in the lobby, otherwise everything was perfect!! I would definitely go back to this hotel.
Traveler's tip on dining
Great selection of restaurants and cafes right outside the hotel. Karim at the front desk has great recommendations as well.

Boutique hotel in a superb Paris location!
We loved this place and felt we got a great room, quiet and airconditioned, in a great location within walking distance of shops, museums, and restaurants, yet on a lovely neighborhood street. Comfy beds, friendly staff, and awesome bathrooms with all the amenities completed the picture. Well be back for sure.

Great location
Just returned from a 5 night stay at the Hotel Artus with my friends and we couldnt have been happier. The hotel is in a great location for tourists - plenty to eat, see and do right outside of the hotel and many major sites are walkable from the hotel. The rooms were clean, roomy and the staff was superb. Its close to the Metro and it was great to return there after a long day of sightseeing and not have to venture far for dinner that evening. Its a boutique hotel and so there are only about 27+ rooms or so but that made it cozy and they knew us by name when we returned which was quite nice. If you like big hotels like Hiltons and the sort and are put off by hotels like the W or other boutique hotels then this is not the place for you I would imagine. That said, we loved the Hotel Artus and I actually would probably stay there again if I returned to Paris. Enjoy!

Great hotel, even better location
The Artus Hotel is on rue de Buci, a few steps off of Blvd. St. Germain. Its a lively area of shops, restaurants, outdoor markets. Very close to Notre Dame, St. Chappelle, St. Sulpice, the Seine, the Metro. Spent a very happy week there.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
have breakfast at one of the restaurants on rue de Buci or nearby streets. Watch the city come to life as shopkeepers, shoppers, delivery vans converge on the neighborhood.
