Good Hotel with good ubication
The Art Hotel is a very moderm Hotel walking distance to the main atractions of the city. Good Hotel for the money.

Interesting hotel
The hotel room was interesting... hard to think of a better adjective. The room features were very "artsy" - for example, there is a table on a wheel attached to the closet door, so when you open the closet door, the table moves along with the door. The bathroom has a pedestal sink that emanates from the floor. The featured artist - whose painting and sculptures are everywhere, seems to have an obsession with the male member. The room was spacious enough. We did not add on the mindnumbingly priced breakfast buffet - instead, we got groceries at Altplatz and used the minibar fridge to store food. 15 minute walk to attractions such as Zwinger palace, the schloss, the transport museum, etc.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
About a 5 minute walk to the Maritim Conference Center. There is a tram stop around the corner. About a 15 minute walk to Altplatz, which has an outdoor market (get your bratwurst). There is an indoor mall, with grocery stores. You can get same day time-stamped tickets for the Green Vault but line up at 9 am (an hour before the booth opens). You can get a Dresden card for 2 or 3 days that provides admission to many museums and unlimited use of local transport.

Central Location, Easy Parking
The hotel was super clean, nicely decorated with contemporary furniture. Loved the foggy bathroom window per switch. I found the staff quite helpful as well. Free Dresden brochures can be found at the lobby as well. Easy parking right underneath the hotel. Also convenient location. Just a stone throw away from the Zwinger and historical downtown. I highly recommend this hotel.
Traveler's tip on dining
Had a very relaxed and excellent lunch at the Cosel Palais right near the remarkable Frauenkirche. I recommend the Spreewald Zanderfilet and the Cosel Haustorte. For an excellent gift take a left down the Salzgasse to the Saechsische Vinothek for a special Liquor from the area.
