Very friendly staff
The hotel is in an old building, somewhat pleasant the layout not being so predictable as in most contemporay buildings. Also near the Tiergarten and very close to the Zoo, not too far from the National Gallery, Postdamer Platz and the Symphony Hall, where you can go on a 20 minutes walk. Overall I was satisfied, the staff was very friendly, breakfast was excellent, not included in the price, and the location fairly well centered, also the price was right.

A good bargain
I got what I paid for, which was fine. The hotel is very well located, and the room adequate. No A/C, but that is typical in Berlin, where it’s not often needed. The hotel is showing its age a bit - I’d probably rate it a 2.5-star locale. But for the price I paid, I cannot complain at all!

Good Value Overall - Just Watch Your Bill
The location was great and the price reasonable. My room was decent size. There is no A/C which I had failed to check when I booked, however it was not an issue. Problems involved service. I was billed for 2 breakfasts totaling 18 Euro when I did not have breakfast in the hotel any of the days I was there. Also, I had made some local calls to a cell phone. Big mistake. the 6 calls, running from a minute to perhaps 15 minutes, totaled 57 Euro. The rooms only indicated how to make a local call, but no info regarding a charge. I should have known better on that one. When I questioned the amount of the charge on 2 of the calls the response was rude. So what would have been a good overall experience was somewhat offset by the checkout experience. Still, a good overall value, just avoid the phone and watch your bill!
