Very Pleased
With the price of all the casino hotels, I searched for a decent place to spend the night after a concert at the Borgata. It was our 15th wedding anniversary so we wanted something nice. We got the hot tub suite and Howard Johnson’s and I can honestly say it was great. The room was spotless even hidden corners were clean. The hot tub was sparkling clean as if it were new. The decor was really nice. It didn;t remind me of a "regular hotel" at all. The towels were big and fluffy and folded perfectly next to the hot tub and in the bathroom. The bed had nice, all coordinating bedspeads, 4 big pillows and 3 or 4 matching throw pillows and pillow rolls. It a very inviting bed to get in and I am kind of fussy about that. The hot tub easily fits 2 and is mirrored and tiled all around even with a large vase and dried flowers on the side of it. I didn’t make it to breakfast but there is coffee in the room. My husband did go to breakfast and had a bagel and juice. That was what he wanted and his bagel was fresh. It was very quiet, the owners were quick, polite and eager to please. I don’t know what some of the other were talking about. It was a really nice room, better then I expected and our stay was romantic and peaceful. I would go there again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at the casinos. They have no hot tub and no coffee in their rooms and cost a few hundred more!
There are alot of nicer restaurants in Absecon as well as Denny’s and fast food places. There is a Wawa and a few other mini-marts right there too. We actually ate at the Borgata and I was not impressed. I have also eaten at Trump Plaza a few times. Both were costly and I really was not pleased with what I got for the money. I didn’t think the quality or the taste were good at all. I have been disappointed each time I ate at a casino. Eat at one of the restuarant’s along the road on the way to the casino. You will spend considerably less and get considerably better food. Having missed the continental breakfast, I went next door to Denny’s. They have a really friendly staff and give you a nice meal too.

Can’t wait to visit again
The room and hotel were very clean and well maintained. The staff were extremely nice and helpful people. We had a fantastic two day stay and would highly recommend this hotel to all. Awesome experience at a great rate!!!

Not Impressed
While the proximity to Atlantic City is nice and the hotel room was "just ok" it is unlikely that we would return any time soon. Mainly the noise through the halls in the middle of the night was disturbing! It woke us up and then continued to the point that we were about to call the front desk. The jacuzzi in our room was not functioning properly and it was one of the main reasons we chose this establishment. The ice machine on our floor was also broken.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
If you expectations are not that high and you want to stay close to Atlantic City without paying a high price then this would be a good choice!
