Mildew smell but ...
Have been to lots of all inclusives in Mex and elsewhere ... First off there was the mildew smell ... first room had it bad and a/c did not work ... they we happy to change rooms though and the second was better ... not totally odor free but better ... and a/c worked like a champ ... rooms are unremarkable but clean and comfy with satellite tv ... food was iffy ... buffets just never had the food hot enough unless you got a fresh pan ... you could get something decent to eat most times though ... sit downs @ La Pergola much better ... family pool a zoo ... no surprise there ... adult pool better but the adult thing lightly enforced ... the thing @ Marival is to make sure you make reservations for their specialty restaurants ... KILLER! ... as good as a $100 a plate in the states ... really! ... five star experience, food, presentation etc. can’t stress enough ... get a room safe just to ensure no problems ... found the staff genuinely happy to help ... we always tip ... had no timeshare badgering ... overall good for the money, our experience would make it better the second time ... Can’t wait to go back. Had a great time.
The staff were great. They are very helpful and friendly. There are many activities to do, so you will never be bored. If you just want to relax by the pool, no one will bother you, just go to the adults only pool. The food was delicious and they have a great variety. Try to stay there on Tuesday, when they have Mexican fiesta night. You wont regret it, the fiesta is amazing. Hope you have a great time.
