Good Hotel and Location
The Arlington Hotel at Temple Bar is located right on the edge of the oldest and probably most "hip" and busy part of Dublin. Pour your own pint at a limited number of tables the hotels restaurant; pretty cool. Not the greatest hotel. They gave us 2 single beds instead of the double we asked for and our bathtub hadnt been completed; ply wood on the side. Other than that, great location and not noisy as one might expect. I would recommend it. However, Id figure out your own directions if youve never been to Dublin and are walking from the bus station, or any other location. The hotels directions were far from simple.
Take a left, down the main street, coming out of the hotel. A block or so down on the corner is a great Italian restaurant. Probably the cheapest and best meal youll have in Dublin. For the lunch special I received a whole pizza, appetizer, and drink for less than 2 pints anywhere else.

Arlington
Only stayed one night - was expecting it to be loud because theres a bar beneath the hotel with live Irish music each night. To our delight, the music stopped around 11pm which was good b/c we had to get up at 4am to catch our flight.

Great Value!
This hotel was a great find for the price! No frills, but if youre just looking for a place to stay and plan on spending most of your time out seeing Dublin this is a good choice. Great central location in Temple Bar area, clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff!

Good location, but not a nice place
The hotel was in a great location in Dublin and it was inexpensive, but was not an ideal place to stay. The room smelled like cigarette smoke even though it was a no smoking room. The staff was not particularly helpful. If you want to pay for a good location, this is a decent place, but if I could do it again I would sacrifice the location for a nicer place.

The Arlington Temple Bar
We enjoyed our stay at the Arlington. Its right across the street from the Dublin Castle and not far from the main strip of the Temple Bar area of Dublin. The only issue we had was the noise from the street. On nice days we wanted to open the window but the traffic and buses were way to loud even throughout the night. The staff was courteous and the food was very tasty. The pour your own pints of guinness tables are very cool as is the mini bottle collection they have in the bar.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The Dublin Castle is across the street. The hop on hop off buses are very close and easily accesible. Take the Jail tour it was very cool. Walking through Temple bar is like a small version of Bourbon street minus the nudity(sort of)its a great spot for people watching.

Decent hotel, nice area, room wasnt ready
I had no problem with noise and this hotel is situated in a very convenient area. The only issues I had were when I checked in to my room (and I showed up later than expected) it wasnt ready. There was spilled beer on one of my bedsheets! The elevator was broken which was very inconvenient. Other than those unpleasant instances, my stay here was satisfactory. I would probably book here again.

Dublin Delight
This hotel is located in downtown Dublin with great access to the bus system, shopping, eating, and sightseeing. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The rooms were a nice size, with good bedding, and a nice TV. Plenty of room for luggage. The customer service was wonderful. They also provide a laundry service so you can have your clothes ready in just a few hours.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
It is located right across from Dublin Castle and few blocks from other attractions such as St.Patricks Cathedral and the shopping district.

great location
fun place to stay especially if you like to pub crawl. Dont plan on going to bed early... the streets are alive untilll midnight. I loved it. the curtins block out the morning sunlight well. Breakfest was NOT included with my standard room. I did request to check out an hour late, and was refused but offered a bagage area; but was then called to say it wouldnt be a problem, nice service!

Would stay again
The location is excellent if you are interested in experiencing the city center. We were able to walk everywhere during our four day stay. We also enjoyed Legends the onsite pub and restaurant with live music an Irish dancers nighlty; a very lively and fun atmosphere. If youre into Guinness I sugest to reserve a tapper table to learn how to pour your own Guinness and have lots of fun. My only concern was the amount of traffic noise (all night long) for the rooms that face the street; ear plugs recommended...
Traveler's tip on dining
We did not experience a bad meal the whole time we were in Dublin, but our best evening meal was at an Italian restaurant just two blocks from the hotel on Dame street.

Great Location
The Arlington Hotel Temple Bar is located across from Dublin Castle, on the edge of the Temple Bar area. It is convenient to walk to many tourist attractions. It is an older hotel, and some of the rooms are fairly small, but ours was clean and adequate for our purposes. We arrived at the hotel at 6 am and were pleased to be given a room right away. There is a pub and restaurant downstairs that has a huge widescreen TV. They had quite a crowd for a Six Nations rugby match when we were there - lots of fun.
Traveler's tip
Most Dublin locals dont know where this hotel is located - it was called the Parliament Hotel until recently. There is an Arlington Hotel on the other side of the Liffey that is more well known. Our cab driver dropped us there despite the fact that we said "Arlington Hotel Temple Bar". Just be sure to tell them that its across the street from Dublin Castle and City Hall.

Good location
We stayed at the Arlington Hotel for two nights in February, our room was in the first floor overlooking the Lord Edward st, we thought it was going to be a noisy room but it wasnt (maybe we were too tired for walking the whole day!). The location is very good just steps from the Dublin Castle and Christchurch cathedral and well the hotel is in the Temple bar! Breakfast wasnt included in our stay so we have to pay extra for it, there are other places for breakfast but we decided to stay there, it was good, a little bit pricey and a la carte. The only thing I didnt like about the hotel was that we were able to hear our neighbors talking clearly, Im not sure if that is the situation for all the rooms but at least it was like that for room 117.

Solid 3 star hotel. Not the most beautiful place that i have ever stayed...but you definitely will not find a better location! All in all, I would stay there again in a heart beat!

Great Location
This hotel is about a 10 minute wake up Dame Street from Trinity College. Dublin City Hall and Dublin Castle are just across the street down about a block. It is a couple of blocks from Guinness. The hotel is older and the rooms are small. There are no air conditioners, microwaves, or refridgerators in the rooms. The hotels bar, Legends, have live Irish music and dance every night, which we recommend. Just know that everything in Dublin is expensive!
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
The hotel has vending machines but the cost is outrageous...be sure to buy your bottled water or sodas at the markets, it will save you a little.

Mixed bag
I stayed five nights and the price was great through the Visit Dublin site. Great location near tourist stops, good music and food, and the show at the hotel is OK if you are not too concerned with traditional or authentic music. However, my room was over the back alley, and a crowd of drunks gathered there every night after about 1:00 a.m. and argued and drank and kept up a racket. I would go back, but take earplugs.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Be sure to take the Hop On-Hop Off" tour bus to get acquainted with the places you will want to go. Go to the Temple Bar, but go to the Brazen Head too. And do breakfast at "Gruel" just a few blocks down Dame Street - itll keep you going all day!!

This hotel was great! We could walk to temple bar and to all the shopping areas etc. It was under construction but it by far a very good place to stay Once the renovations are complete it will sure be beautiful

Nice place despite the renovations
The hotel was nice and staff were vey helpful! Dont be afraid to ask for things if it is not exactly what you expected. When we got our room, one of the beds was horrible (it felt like springs with out a matress). We asked for a new room and had the option of three. They were very kind about the whole thing. Also, while we were there the restaurant was being renovated but they did offer a 25% voucher for their sister hotel which had GREAT music and Irish dancing.

Everything was fine except the noise
The room was fine, the staff were pleasant, but half the rooms overlook Lord Edward Street. Buses, lorries, cars, drunken tourists--if you dont mind the mellifluous melodies these things bless you with at 4am, great. Otherwise, take a room on the other side of the hall. Of course, given its convenient proximity to Temple Bar and Grafton Street, you might come back at 4am yourself in which case none of this will matter.

Good and Bad
Okay, Ill start with the good. This hotels location is fantastic-centrally located and in the mix of things. The rooms can be configured with a queen and two singles, nice for parents traveling with children or friends. The staff is friendly, and helpful, and the bedding is attractive. The bad. The hotel is under renovation, which means the restaurant and pub are closed, and the lobby walls are plaster board. The hotel has recently been taken over is now the Arlington. It is a very old hotel which is great, but the condition of the mattresses is horrible. It was like sleeping in a hammock, and there was an unpleasant odor in both the room and bathroom.
Traveler's tip
At this point I would not recommend this hotel; however, in about 8 months, I would revisit the reviews and possibly give it another whirl. For shopping, I would suggest going to both sides of the Liffey, not just Grafton street.

Excellent right in heart of city!
Would love to go back. Easy access to every part of the city(walking distance). Was able to catch bus from airport. Then only a short walk. If you want to do the various "hop on hop off" buses they stop right outside hotel.

Great hotel and value
This is a very nice hotel with an excellent staff that does all it can to please. Great location, safe, walk to absolutley everything (including airport bus and other transportation), good bar and restaurant in the hotel, plus many, many more in the surrounding area. Would definitely stay there again.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
The hotel is on the corner of Dame and Parliament Streets. Make note of the name Dame St as this is the most prominent of the two streets on which it is situated and is therefore easier to locate on maps, etc.
