Creature Comforts!

The hotel is located in a lovely residential(albeit graffitt-riddled section of town (I understand the graffiti artists are generally a plague in this beautiful city). Our room was small, spotlessly clean, functional--no plush frills. But it had the biggest/nicest shower we had on our trip and the AC actually worked! We were going to skip breakfast but it turned out to be a veritable banquet we couldn’t pass up! Again, best of our trip. If you’re looking for charm the Milano Corso is not your place. If, on the other hand, you’re wanting a quiet, comfortable stay at a reasonable price, I highly recommend you stay here.

Traveler's tip on dining

We just overnighted in Milan before flying home the next morning (Monday). Be forewarned that there are very few restaurants open on Sunday evening--a grave disappointment on our last day in Italy! Have your big meal earlier in the day.

Basic Room, Great Value

We stayed at this hotel for one night and it worked great. We were a little tight for space with 2 adults and 2 kids, but for a clean basic place to stay with breakfast included it suited us perfectly. It was about a 10 minute walk to the underground and easy to get around from there. I would stay there again, but for 2 nights max with 4 in a room.

We went to the Duomo area- very crowded and touristy and a lot of people watching you to bug you to buy things. Had some guys grab our 2 year old by the wrist and put a bracelet on him while I yelled NO THANK YOU, PLEASE NO! And then they wanted money. It was not scary, but very agressive and unnerving. Keep your hands in your pockets on your wallet at all times!

Good location, awesome free breakfast, clean

The hotel is in the Navigili district of Milan. There are plenty of walkable restaurants and cafes nearby. We felt safe walking at night and Milan in general is a very clean city (unlike Rome). It is onyl a few blocks to the underground. The breakfast is amazing! Clean hotel.

Great, Great, Great!

Loved this hotel. Stayed for two nights in September. Air conditioning worked great. Superb location. Great canals nearby for some wonderful entertainment and night action. Very clean and comfortable hotel and room. The room was very small and crammed; however, it was modern, neat, and Europe has small rooms anyway. We loved it and would stay again.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Ask the front desk how to get down to the canal area...it is only a 10 minute walk. Great happy hours, restaurants, gelato, shopping and night time fun until the wee hours. Great time, great location.

Great location, helpful staff.

We found the hotel to be a fabulous value. Great location, nice breakfast buffet, and very helpful front desk staff. Plus, our room had a beautiful panorama of the city. Yes, it has a small elevator, and small showers, but who cares?

Surprisingly Nice

This hotel was surprisingly nice for a 3 star hotel. Beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was modern and clean. The only drawback was the location. The walk from the metro with luggage and kids felt like forever.

Almost perfect

We had a great stay at this hotel. It happened that we arrived exactly at 3 o’clock and probably were the first ones to check in. When booking on Expedia I asked for one double/queen bed, instead we were given a large room with two queen beds. It took a while to figure out how electricity works (you have to keep your card key in the reader by the door). The location was very good - we walked to see the Last Supper, to the Duomo, to the castle. Concierge is there 24/7, so there was no problem returning at two in the morning after watching Aida in Verona. The breakfast was very nice too - variety of fruits, pastries, hot items, you name it. It may get busy later in the morning (around 9:30 or so) so try to have breakfast earlier. The only downside is the absence of free internet. But considering the price I paid for the room that was OK to pay extra for internet (15 euro for 24 hours access).

Clean and great location, but no safe and no wireless internet!

I thought this was a part of the Accor hotels, but it has since been taken off the list. The room was clean and the breakfast was good. Service was excellent. Location was great ...within walking distance to many sights. Problems: No safe, no wireless internet (available for an extra fee), tiny tiny bathroom which wouldn’t be so bad if the shower wasn’t so unbelievably small!! There was no shelf to put your shampoo, etc. The toilet was so close that it served as a "shelf", but I left the bathroom floor soaked every day!!

Traveler's tip for business travelers

The hotel lobby has a safe deposit box, but it isn’t large enough to lock up your laptops. Take your computers at your own risk!!

Place to stay with kids

I have two kids aged 3 1/2 and 6. Obviously, they are still too young to stay in a hotel room by themselves. Besides this hotel, there was only the grand hotel with the suite for EUR 800 to accommodate me and my family. Besides, for us it was a perfect hotel, a small breakfast buffet, centrally located.

Milan’s Best Buy

Reasonable price, clean, efficient. Room a bit small but comfortable. Breakfast was tremendous! Great location and convenient parking. Definitely recommend this hotel. We’ll stay there again.

PERFECT LOCATION

Very convenient 5 minute walk to downtown. Breakfast had a huge selection of breads, pastries as well as eggs, etc & it was awesome. The hotel was very clean. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in. Front desk hired a driver for us to the airport & it was worth it. We loved Milan & will go back to this hotel!

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Duomo Cathedral is 5 minute beautiful walk. The downtown area shopping was incredible. The people were nice & spoke very good English. Spend time downtown around the piazza-by Duomo, shopping & their are many places to eat. Wonderful City.

Fabulous and centrally-located

I thought this place was great. Located a little ways south of the Duomo, it’s easy to get to by public transportation, clean, comfortable, and the included-breakfast is fabulous. I highly recommend!

Very nice but small

The Hotel was very clean with a nice view. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. The only downfall is that the room is very small and tight. It’s close to the Metro and if you’re not planning to stay there for more then a couple days its it good place to stay at.

Decent hotel but expensive for anyone with dollars

Folks at the desk were very helpful. Provided maps for those going to historical spots, landmarks, and other locations in the area. Info was there about events and about Milan in general. As with many Mercure and possibly European hotels, rooms were small. The rooms were kept clean. However, the maid did not replace the laundry slip and bag I needed. Plastic cups were not replaced. Soap was not replaced. Nothing was available closer to the Academy of International Business conference so I stayed at Mercure. I had wished to be closer. Other Mercure hotels were more efficient.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Milan is not Florence, Rome or Venice but I enjoyed the city. I walked everywhere. People were friendly and courteous. I wish I spoke Italian. Few folks I encountered spoke English. (That’s my fault, not theirs.) 15 museums, fantastic Duomo Cathedral, lovely Galleria. Subways, trolleys, and the train make for easy getting around. I thoroughly enjoyed Milano!

Will stay at the Mercure next time I’m in Milano.

Avoid reserving the "standadrd rooms" They are very small with a queen size bed. There is barely room to move around the bed and no room to settle down your luggage or even sit on a chair. Pay a little more and upgrade to the next level, it so weel worth the extra expense. Location is excellent with very nice restaurants within a 10 mins walk.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Excellent breakfast; efficient wi-fi access for a nominal fee. Very helpful staff.

nice location

The location is very good.... safe, 15 min walk to the duomo and 10 min walk on the other to the river with its restaurants... the hotel is well maintained and have a very nice american style hot breakfast buffet(very nice spread).... it was a blessing considering, every other hotel we stayed in our trip had continental style... the room was prolly the smallest we have ever seen, including the bed which was a double instead of queen... i would recommend this for people who are going to stay in milan for a day for sightseeing near the duomo, and a nice breakfast buffet spread... u sav e atleast 15-20 euros on ur breakfast..
