Very Uncomfortable

We stayed at this hotel for one night before we had to be at the airport. We arrived at the hotel at about 7:30pm and the woman working the front desk was very rude and short with any questions we asked her. Once we got to the room the room was clean except for the bathtub... it had hair all over the bottom of the bathtub...GROSS! The bed was about 2 1/2 feet off the floor and the matresses were about 4 inches thick. The air conditioner worked on and off and was VERY loud. It was the worst night sleep ever which was not a good thing considering we had a 4 hour flight the next day. The only positive part of our stay was the shuttle service to the airport. Not recommended.

Good value for the price and close to the airport. Not many options for food nearby if you don’t have a car but there is some available.

Inexpensive but no real bargain

The price for the hotel was very good. Unfortunately, the service and the location was a little bit lacking. The hotel clerk at check was definitely NOT warm and fuzzy and did not make me feel welcome. The location is not great for finding fine dining. I had no transportation so a I had to take a 10 minute walk (NO SIDEWALK) to a little pizza joint attached to a gas station. I must do a better job of thinking about food when i travel!!

Practically on airport grounds

Nice hotel. Did not have shower caps or a printer in the office to use with our laptops so we could check in with our flights and print out a boarding pass in order to insure good seats on our flight. Had a good night’s sleep.

We won’t be back. The staff and hotel are horrible.

Don’t stay here. Staff is arrogant and rude. Don’t recall how many times I was told it’s not my problem by the front desk staff. I’d sleep in my truck long before staying here again.

The shower didnt work, the heat didn’t work and it was overall uncomfortable.

Thrifty traveler

Though the date in my reservation was wrong, the receptionist was very cooperative. The hotel has the minimum you need for sleeping few hours before or after your flight. Don’t expect comfort. If people staying in the rooms beside yours watch TV while you want to sleep, you’d better have earplugs with you. If you have heavy bags you will have to carry them up the stairs, as there is no elevator. The shuttle works fine, though. The hotel is easily connected with the airport, with early morning rides.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

If you can afford a higher budget hotel, don’t consider this one. If you don’t care about amenities and service for few hours sleep, this hotel is okay, provided that you can sleep with loud TV in the next room.

The hotel has a park and ride to the airport option, which worked well for us.

Unfriendly

Unfriendly staff, the coffee was taken out of the room, they offered continental breakfast, but much later than our flight time. Offered shuttle to the airport, again staff was unfriendly and rude. I would tell someone about the convenience of the location to the airport and the budget price, but I can’t say I would recommend it!

Will not return to EconoLodge anywhere.

Night clerk was snotty and disagreeable. Day clerk only marginally nicer. Hotel was not terribly clean and breakfast was a joke. The clerk didn’[t seem prepared to provide the coffee needed for the guests and seemed annoyed to make more coffee and put more rolls out for guests. Pay the extra and get better quality. The carpet felt dirty and bathroom was not fresh.

Pay a bit more and go for quality instead of low pricing. This hotel chain is not worth even the low prices charged.

Did not feel safe

We did not check in. The overall impression of this hotel was questionable (to us). We did not feel good about using the emergency exit/fire escape stairwell to get to the room. We did not feel safe staying there.

It Sucks

My reason for selecting this hotel was access to wireless internet access and price. Although wireless access was available, a connection to the internet was not. When I brought this detail to the staff, no one could resolve (or understand) the issue. They simply stated they couldn’t do anything about it. Also, provided in my room was a non functioning hair dryer and television with extremely poor reception. So, no. I do not intend to stay at this hotel again.

Econo Lodge- Kansas City

Not very clean. Bathroom was not well maintained. Mattress was poor quality and uncomfortable.

Needs Upgrades

You get what you pay for and that’s exactly what I got. The hotel needs to be upgraded. For the most part the staff was really nice.

Any hotel with a bullet proof cage can’t be that great. I only stayed there because it was one night without my family.

No Elevator

If you need an elevator to your room....the airport Econolodge in Kansas City is not for you. Luckily I could maneuver to the 3rd floor with my luggage, dead tired at 1AM after a late flight in. Others might not be as fortunate.

Do Not Stay at this hotel!

Even though this hotel is advertised as a "Fly&Stay" hotel, they charged $4 a day to park our car there while we were gone on a trip. Then, when we arrived back at the airport, we tried for 45 minutes to call the hotel to pick us up with NO ANSWER! Finally we called the Choice Hotels reservation number and had to get them to email the hotel to answer the phone. Do not count on this hotel for timely airport service or free parking because they will not provide either of these. NOT RECOMMENDED!

Disappointed

I arrived at 10pm at the airport. After 2 calls for the shuttle and asking specific questions about where to be collected (the information was not offered, no time frame given, nothing)I was finally picked up. Service was substandard, no extra info, had to even ask how to get to my room. Not too friendly, broken English that was hard to understand. Room was cleaned OK but was in disrepair. The A/C was loud and barely cooled the room even though it was on high all night. The bed was horrible. TV was from the ’70s. Non-smoking room smelled like smoke, obviously converted. The "continental breakfast" was a joke, but at least there was coffee. I know what I stayed at is a budget motel, but for the money, I expected more. The 1/2 price I paid for the hotel I stayed at the next night in Kansas was worth MORE than this one. Good thing a week long vacation was not planned here.

worst hotel ever

I’ve stayed in some crappy places before but I found a new level this weekend. My advice, spend the five or so dollars more a night. Some things are not cost efficient, just cheap.

Decent for the price

The hotel was clean, but kind of muggy-feeling. We asked the staff for suggestions of where to shop and several other locations and they weren’t at all knowledgeable about the city, which was kind of surprising. The second morning of our stay, the fire alarms sounded for over 10 minutes while the staff just shrugged their shoulders and didn’t seem to care. I guess we got what we paid for- I didn’t expect much more from an Econo Lodge.
