Hotel de la Gare du Nord, Paris
Hotel is very convenient and near to Gare du Nord rail station. Metro and RER stations are at Gare du Nord. There are a number of good cafes/restaurants within walking distance. Rooms are small but clean with all amenities. The breakfast buffet is excellent.
Traveler's tip on dining
Favorite cafes/restaurants are O Beret Basque and Paris Nord Cafe. We do not like Brasserie Terminus Nord as the food and service are not up to Paris standards.

Old but comfortable
The first room assigned had a bad bathroom light but we were quickly reassigned to another room. All worked well with the second room and the air-conditioning also workewd well. This was one of the main reasons for selecting this hotel and we were quite pleased.

Good location, don’t get streeview rooms
Location of the hotel is perfect. Just 2 minute walk to/from Station Gare du Nord. This station has RER station (for the fast subway lines) and hi speed trains. Breakfast in the hotel was included in the price and was nice. We had a queen bed. Which was a bit hard. The A/C was difficult to operate but worked fine. We had a streetview room. If you can manage, request a room on the other side to avoid street/traffic noice. After repeated requests for an iron we got one after about 2 hours.
