General Information
What to expect: Business visitors and tourists, as well as skiers in the winter season, step into a wide lobby at Rydges Lakeland Resort, a large hotel of two interconnected buildings. The lobby's glass frontage lets in the natural light and provides views of Lake Wakatipu and its mountains. Groups of sofas surrounding low coffee tables add a splash of bright colour. Guests can browse at the Internet stations and at a rack of tourist information brochures.
Amenity highlights: Rydges Lakeland Resort's prime location on the shores of Lake Wakatipu is highlighted in its restaurant and contemporary bar and two of its conference rooms, all of which have wide views over the lake and surrounding mountains. |
Insider tip: Rydges Lakeland Resort is just across the road from the shores of Lake Wakatipu. Follow the lakeshore promenade to the left for a stroll past the town and around a promontory with fine views of Queenstown and later the Remarkables mountain range. Part of the promontory is a botanic garden that is often overlooked by many Queenstown visitors in spite of its alpine setting.
