Well needed pampering

My boyfriend and I work overseas in Afghanistan, and both have our homes in Ontario, Canada.We are on a rotation of 3 mths in and 1 mth out, so our vacation time to us is most important. Each time out we go to a different location, this time we selected the Philippines as our destination and the Pan Pacific in Manila (Expedia pick) , booked prior to the typhoon had occurred but the Pan Pacific was most attentive in answering all of my emails of inquires of conditions, safety etc.... We were not disappointed, we used the Pan Pacific airport pick up and drop off and it was such a pleasure to be greeted and taken good care of after our long flight , it took all the stress off right from the beginning. Their staff of Butlers were always most accommodating in assisting us in all our inquires from shopping(just around the corner), to meals (restaurants within walking distance, as well as their wonderful restaurants) , to sights to see. I highly recommend the Friday night BBQ on their roof top restaurant. We stayed in the Executive room and it was exquiste. I suggest you take the time to fill out the survey the Pan Pacific offers as they met all our selections from what pillows we wanted, to the snack in our room. Thank you to all the staff for a truly pampered stay.

Pan Pacific is a very nice unscale hotel , service and food will meet anyones demands Only down side was the internet was not included in the room cost an extra charge was added to the bill for thisd service

Impressed- would stay here again

Hotel short walking distance to Robinson Mall, places to eat within (didnt eat here)hotel as well as outside.Room had decent amount of space, nice tub as well as glass shower, plenty of towels, how water. Pool+ spa/jacuzzi, internet access in room, mini fridge was too full of ’drinks for sale’so made room... Staff was courteous - no complaints overall

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

walk away from hotel and get street taxi to save money and find store (e.g.7-11 nearby)for snacks, beverages of choice. Mall was close and many restautrants / retail stores available within. close to bay and clubs in the area.

Great Staff

My recent week long stay at the Pan Pacific Manila was a pleasure. The accommodations were very nice, as one would expect, but the level of customer service from Reception to the Restaurant was exceptionally high and the consistency of service across every employee was just remarkable. It is obviously a superbly managed hotel with a charming and delightful staff.

Great service, fantastic food, overall amazing hotel

Very friendly and kind staff. I’ve heard that the breakfast buffet on the top floor is really nice but didn’t have a chance to try. Tried ordering breakfast in and was really good too. Rooms are very clean and quite spacious. Good value compared with what other common hotels are charging in the area.

Centrally located, but a bit congested and adult oriented

The hotel is centrally located in Manila and close to the Mall of Asia and Razal Park. However, there are many "gentlemen’s clubs" nearby and not the best place for families to walk with children if you are not ready to have those kinds of conversations. There are great restaurant options (Chinese, Korean, Japanese, etc.)and shopping within walking distance and the hotel staff is very helpful. While our visit was pleasant, I would recommend not staying in Manila but head toward Illicos, Boracay, or Palawan. Manila is congested and polluted, which is not representative of the Philippine islands.

When taking a taxi request a meter or negotiate the price in advance. They will often try to overcharge you and it would be wise to ask the hotel staff what the going rate it is to get to particular sites. 168 or the Divisario is a great place to shop for affordable goods and the Kutura Filipino is a great dept. store for more expensive Filipino things.

Most enjoyable on my end!!!!!

From the day I check-in till the day I checked out, everything about Pan Pacific is more than I expected. All the associates are very courteous and treated me more like a family, rather than a guest. I may not have used their butler/room service due to my convenience, but this hotel may not be for everyone. All in all, I would come back again.

As a solo traveller, I loved the attention from guests and visitors. Not to bragg, but I might’ve gotten alluring looks from females and jealousy stares from men. What can I say.....i’m unique.

Other than the location (close to clubs, etc.), this is a perfect hotel for me and my family - clean, secure, accommodating and friendly staff, big rooms and bathrooms, complete amenities, etc. Definitely will stay in this hotel again.

It was a great stay at hotel pan pacific in manila, all the employees -and there a lot working there- are very friendly and at the business lounge they ’re willing to help you out with all your questions and they also arrange trips around the flippines.......very diverse breakfast, great view,....swimming pool on the 6-the floor with a bubble bath.....i really felt at home, relaxed atmosphere.

Phone trap

This hotel charged me 9 USD/minute for the emergency calls I had to make to China. The phone bill came to nearly 400 USD in one day. I think this is an outrageous amounts and I don’t plan to stay at this chain of hotels in the future.

Good Hotel

Located in the financial district near malls and stores. Not a lot happening around the hotel if you want night life. Good relaxing hotel to stay in. Breakfast buffet is fantastic. Would recommend staying if you want a nice quiet place to stay away from the crowds. Good hospitality, as they are very receptive to your needs. Would definitely stay again.

Not as Advertised

Looks great in the ads but in reality the Pan Pacific is showing its age. While the staff remains attentive, the facilities are very tired and management is clearly not interested in making improvements. My request to speak with a manager fell on deaf ears and I quietly left in full dissappointment - never to return. So sad for this once grand hotel.

Great service, good location

Excellent service. Good location -- near Robinson Mall and Roxas Blvd. Clean room. Generally well-maintained property but beginning to show age. Limited restaurant/bar onsite, but restaurants available in other floors of building. A little pricey for what you get -- not a value.

Clean, prompt service, and reasonable in cost.

Hotel options in Ermita area are limited. This hotel among the best in 5-star hotels in the area. Only minor problem with curtains. They do not close firmly. It is difficult to get extra sleeping time during the day due to sunlight in the room.

Good hotel in bad neighborhood

Good points: prompt, personalized service; very clean rooms and very quiet. Love the pool, but because the way the building is positioned, you will get better exposure in the morning. There are also a lot of restaurants in the casino side of the build, accessible from the hotel. Love the shabu-shabu bar on the third floor. Bad points: it’s located in a neighborhood sourounded by not so nice establishments. Little scary walking down the street and all the sudden we were mobbed by the homeless pandering for money and food. I would avoid the Japanese restuarants (Miyabi and Gyumon) on the casino side of the hotel.

Had a great time

I was extremely pleased with the service and presentation of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and ready at the drop of a hat to answer questions or provide service. the hotel was beautiful and offered an amazing pool and great workout area. The room was comfortable and clean. Overall a great stay and I will definately advice others to stay there when in Manila.

You do not have to go far to find a place to go out around the hotel. There were many places to get a drink and several good restaurants within walking distance.

Not far from Manila International Airport & Mall of Asia for shopping. Used hotel transportation service rather than taking a cab.

A little local flavor to this good hotel

Pan Pacific Manila is a bit away from the glitzier more western parts of Manila in Malate, with much closer proximity to local night spots. In close prooximity to hotel are Intramuros, walled city and a reasonably priced mall of mixed price stores is within walking distance. Pool is nice and staff are eager to help. It’s a taxi ride to the bigger malls and downtown CBD, but people were very helpful in the local neighborhood.
