great location, clean, polite

This hotel is about 1 block from the train station. Breakfast was very good and the staff was always polite. I arrived in Frankfurt in a rental car and was able to drive to the hotel, drop off bags, and return the car to the rental agency at the train station all on the same 2 blocks. Very convenient.

There is a great italian restaurant around the corner with very reasonable prices.

Great place to stay in Frankfurt!

I stayed in this hotel only for a night.I really like the hotel because it was only a block and a half from the main train station about a 5 min walk.The staff were very helpful and always did their best to take care of me.Even thought the hotel does not have AC they were nice enough to provide me with a fan which I really appreciate.As for the breakfast buffet they had a traditional German breakfast and they waited on me hand and foot. Great service I would recommend it for it’s great price in such a great location! =]

How could it be worse?

The hotel was listed as non-smoking - it isn’t. Were supposed to have a king sized bed - it didn’t. Said they had A/C - they don’t. The walls had stains of unknown origin on them. I was afraid to take off my socks for fear of what was on the stained carpet. The hotel is near the train station, and while that is convenient the area is pretty sketchy.

Great find for the business traveler

Conveniently located (2 blocks from Hauptbahnhof) yet quiet. Not air-conditioned, but they provided a table fan which was fine. Single room, which fit my budget. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was excellent. Very good value.

Not fancy but comfortable...

Clean, comfortable rooms with helpful staff. Location is convenient to main train station. Neighborhood not touristic, but reasonably quiet. (Rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter than in front.) Breakfast is fine.

A hotel to budget travelers

Everything was within the normal levels, but the breakfast was not, in our opinion, a full breakfast. It was a breakfast buffet, a modest one, at the most. Normally a full breakfast should contain also warm dishes, as porridge, sausages, bacon and such. The coffee pot was incoveniently situated in the nook and there were not always staff to pour more coffee. However, regarding to the price of the room the whole package was satisfying.

A modern hotel with friendly service at a great price

Excellent location a few steps from the central railroad station. Elevator. A modern room with functional furniture. Light and functional bathroom with hair dryer. Extensive breakfast buffet with friendly service included in price. I stayed in the winter and the heat was funtioning perfectly. In the summer on a hot day I would probably recommend a room with air conditioning.

Clean and nice hotel

I spend 1 night in Hotel Topas with my girlfriend during our Germany trip. Late check-in (11 p.m.) did not cause any problems. Hotel staff was very friendly and rooms were really clean. Breakfast is another reason of mine to recommend this hotel. Additionally, Hotel Topas is quite easy to reach from FRA airport and Central Train Station.

Good quality hotel, near main train station

Just blocks from the main train station (great for arriving by plane or by train to Frankfurt, and for walking to downtown Frankfurt), courteous staff (but spoke limited English), great breakfast (breads, cheeses, yogurts, cereals). Would return again. Clean, comfortable rooms (a bit warm in the summer) with plenty of room, but couch seemed less clean. Modern bathroom. Double room was actually two twin beds pushed together (which was fine), but pillows were quite thin. No internet available from hotel (but had access to open wireless from neighboring hotel!)

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

It was convenient to stay in Frankfurt (less expensive and transfer location for within-European travel), and take a daytrip to a nearby city Heidelberg, which is more touristy.

Simple, yet more than enough

The Topas is a great hotel to stay at for many reasons. The staff was friendly and more then accomodating. Just remember to give your key to them while you are out during the day. The breakfast was amble and had a great variety of deli meats, rolls, ceral, fruit and a few others. The train station is maybe a five minute short walk away and very easy to get to. I was able to check in at 9am, which was amazing after an 8 hour flight across the pond.

I should go back!

The hotel is located very close to main Frankfurt attrations. It is clean and comfortable. People at the front desk are very receptive and speak a good english. No in-room AC was it’s weak point. It valued the price.

If you intend to visit Frankfurt, stay at this hotel. It is located within walking distance from many attractions. Also, the Central Train Station is 100 meters far from the hotel.
