Not at all what expected...
After seeing the photos on line of hotel, expected a locely clean even a little old fashioned hotel. We got a room with wallpaper peeling off the walls, torn, the worst bed we have ever had to sleep on. The hotel was located wonderfully the breakfast which was included was really good. Just a pity the room and the fact that they were painting the doors and walls down the passage. Each doorway had a notice mind the paint but because the doorknob was in such a bad state, you had to touch the painted door to get it opened so paint everywhere. Surely they could do this in winter time not during the height of summer?. Overall very disappointed.

very doubtful if I would stay again
very dirty and rundown. Windows would not shut and I caught a terrible cold from sleeping in a draught which ruined my 10 days in England. Sheets were not changed the 5 days I stayed and room was not vacuumed. On the plus side, some of the views from the windows were fantastic, for instance, the dining and living hall, and the location is very scenic and convenient. However a refurbishment and renewal is greatly needed.

Non-existant security - not impressed
Security was appalling. When we were out, my daughter, who wasnt booked into the hotel, asked for our room key and was given it with no questions asked. She wasnt known to the staff, who seemed to change shifts every 5 minutes. The room we were allocated was on the lower ground floor with no window, so was claustrophobic. The buffet breakfast lacked imagination, consisting of bacon, sausage eggs etc. Considering the number of foreign tourists, did the least we expected was a Continental breakfast. The only good things were the location to the sea front/Pier and the coach station. On our last evening, the bar had no Bacardi because it was the Duty managers day off and he had the key!!! We certainly wouldnt go back again.
