Close to UCD, but very average
My room was ok, the hotel could generally use some updating on the rooms as the carpets were filthy and paint peeling in places. The biggest issue came as I thought breakfast was included, which was my fault for not seeing the fine print. But with Expedia it is not included in the price. So when I got up to leave the waiter informed me that for the two of us the bill was 35 euros for an Irish breakfast which was very like any other that I have had before. $50 dollars for an average breakfast seemed exorbitant. But again it was my fault for not realizing that Expedia does not include the breakfast in their deal whereas other sites did. The staff were a mixed bag, some very friendly while others couldnt be bothered to help out at all. It was a middle of the road hotel which had the benefit of being close to UCD which was where I needed to go.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
This Hotel is close to UCD and only about a 10-15 minute bus ride to Dublin City Centre. But there is nothing around the hotel in the ways of services within walking distance other than the hotels facilities or the facilities at the University.

Good for University College business
Very convenient if you are on business at the University College in Dublin. Otherwise, dont even think about staying there. Its far from downtown (you will need to get a bus) and there is nothing else around.

Unimpressed
Most staff were blase and seemed put out with any request; somewhat blunt in attitude. There was one concierge guy that was really great - a gem compared to check-in and the restaurant staff. The room decor and blankets need an update, and bathroom space is really cramped. Shower curtain was so close that it couldnt stay off my arm and shoulder. 4th floor hallway had two additional stair wells to descend before getting to the room, so getting heavy bags to and from was a challenge.
