Within 30 minutes of the University of Mississippi and the college sports in Oxford, MS. Hotels in Oxford as always full.

Ramada Inn Limited at Batesville, Mississippi

Although there was plaster eroding from the wall next to the bath enclosure, over all the room was very satisfactory. The air conditioning worked fine, the bed was quite comfortable, the front desk was responsive to requests and the continental breakfasts were tasty and filling.

Traveler's tip on dining

About four miles from Batesville on Highway 278/6 is a place called Paw-Paw’s. The "decor" resembled a converted warehouse but all the food is very tasty and reasonably inexpensive. We ate cheeseburgers and fried green tomatoes at lunch and the great buffet (ribs, catfish, BBQ) that night. A great "local color" eatery.

The rooms were quite roomy the carpeting could be cleaned, it would have been nice if the swimming pool had been open since the weather was hot

don’t ever book smoking if desperate for rooms

room was awful Didn’t really want smoking--but needed a room in the area. Burn holes in cover, smelled like someone had just smoked. BUT, front desk person did help--changed cover and pillows, used air spray to help.

Motel in Batesville

The only disappointment was that this facility is an older motel that has been recently remodeled. I prefer hotels instead, so that was my major dislike. However, the remodeling was done right and the rooms are nice and clean.
