If youre going to Bangkok ...
... this is a quite OK hotel, nice staff and good comfort. Check out is at noon but I got two extra hours just by asking. The area is OK.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Use the Skytrain and/or the Metro when moving around. Fast and efficient with great A/C, taking a taxi can take forever. When going on a river cruise, it took two hours from the hotel to River City - avoid the cruises on the Rice Boat, not worth the money. Dont miss the Jim Thompson museum.

Very Nice For The Price
The Windsor Suites has a great location in BKK and is down a couple of blocks from two five star properties which are twice the price of the Windsor Suites. I have stayed in both and the Windsor works hard to provide eqivalent levels of service. The staff was personable, breakfast was included in the price, and the rooms were large, well appointed, and clean. When i extended my stay, the front desk was kind enough that I would save money if I simply re-booked via Expedia! I do intend on staying there again.
Traveler's tip on shopping
Shoppers - beat the heat on the street. Seek out the MEK bazaar indoors across from Siam Mall. Similar deals, but with A/C for the farangs.

bad outweighed the good
the good-- location: walking distance to the sky train, night markets, etc. spacious: having a suite was really nice friendly: the staff was courteous and helpful spa: was pricey but very nice the bad-- stains: two of the chairs had big brown stains on them wall paper: was falling off in some places shower head: was set for someone four feet tall tv: hard to operate (it was the most complicated tv i have ever seen in my life) air conditioner: barely cooled the room off all in all, the bad simply outweighed the good and i would not recommend this hotel to friends of mine.
