I recommend it based on location (only)
The hotel is your best option in Fatima based on its location: Literally besides the basilica, that was very convenient. Besides that, the hotel is a two star hotel (not 4) very old and dingy, restaurant’s hours are odd, I was able to use it just for breakfast which was not very good. Room service is just from the bar (cold sandwiches only). Rooms are tiny, but the bathroom was nice.
Not many people decides to stay in Fatima, the majority of visitors leave before 6pm and that is a mistake. If you really love this place and understand and respect it for what it is, you will love the sundown, the night processions, the bells, everything, it was magic, we loved it. Also make sure to take the little "train" to visit ’Valinhos" a beautiful part where you will find amazing places like where the angel appeared, another apparition of the Virgin place and the house of the three little shepherds. Don’t miss it.
