Unimpressed, overpriced and lacking quality
Stayed two nights in room 47. Bathroom sink leaked and showed calcium stains all around glass bowl. Arrived with last guest’s towel in bathroom - ugh. Room layout poor with TV effectively below the end of the bed. The carpet as you walked into the room was beige and heavily stained. Placement of power sockets provided interest for hair drying etc. At night no food available at bar at 12 pm. At breakfast 0945 no fried eggs left. Hotel full. Rediculous procedure for leaving. Requiring key to get out through gates. Tailback as no option to bail out and as always someone did not have key - took 15 mins ! On the good side picturesque main building and quaint interior (read traditional not designed for 21 century passage of guests). Gardens and topiary lovely. For a claimed 4 star I vote it 2.5. Overpriced due closeness to Stratford. 2 wines, 1 beer and three sandwiches GBP37+. Sorry Barcelo but its a miss.
