An Okay Stay
The staff at Villa Du Maine is quite helpful and there is pay per use internet in the lobby for those like me who cannot stay away from their email. The rooms are very small and the hotel is impossible to find on your first try for depending on which perpendicular street you are traveling the block the hotel is on has a different name. It was close to the metro as was promised and in all I was happy with the room. It is not a bad stay for the price.

The hotel is a bit off the beaten path from attractions. If you are young like me, and are looking for an area that is more interesting, stay in the Latin Quarter.

not too bad for the money
it was not too bad for the money, but you would have to be prepared to pay an extra for the internet (and quite an extra, if you want it!), as well as for the breakfast. the place itself was quiet, with some pubs next block...

Really not impressed...
Positives: about 10min walk from subway stations, quiet, almost affordable for Paris, nice neighborhood (the patisserie at the corner is DELICIOUS!!)... Negatives: tiny tiny tiny TINY room (Paris hotels usually have tiny rooms, but this one breaks records...), everything is or looks old, wireless internet is exorbitantly expensive, no amenities whatsoever. Conclusion: I would not go back there because the room is really small, internet is not affordable (8 euros for 60 minutes!!). Next time, I’ll pay a bit more to get a decent hotel.
