Quality Hotel in a Great Location

The Bethesda Hyatt is clean, comfortable, and well managed. It’s in a great location for the business traveler. There are many restaurants and shops nearby. And, the hotel is located next door to DC Metro station where you can catch trains on the Red Line which afford easy access to and from National Airport and many locations in the Washington area.

Very nice property with great location to metro

The hotel was very nice. We were vacationing and it was pretty much a business class property and we enjoyed the stay. The location, on top of the metro stop, was excellent and made traveling with two young boys easy to manage.

Surprisingly subpar

The hotel originally did not give me the vouchers for my free continental breakfast. I had to show proof as their records didn’t show my stay included free continental breakfast. Luckily I had retained my Expedia itinerary and receipts which showed I did indeed get free breakfasts. The mattress on my bed was too firm. Also, for the last half of our stay, one of the three elevators was out of order. We could also hear the baby crying in the adjoining room (the walls were too thin). The concierge was helpful, though. She was the bright spot of our stay.

Nice place

Convenient location right next to Bethesda Metro station. Parking garage is underneath the hotel, but you can’t get directly to the hotel from the garage - you have to take an elevator to the street level and walk around the corner into the hotel. Besides that oddity, it’s a really nice place to stay, and there’s plenty to do in the neighborhood.

Surprisingly Disappointed

The room was surprisingly small, and there was a lot of noise coming from the neighboring room.

Great location and price

Nice, clean hotel with a great location for jumping on the Metro or eating in area restaurants. Staff was cooperative and the room comfortable.

Comfort in unusual circumstances

We experienced D.C.’s snow storm of the century while at the Hyatt Regency in Bethesda! The hotel personnel remained very professional under difficult circumstances and kept us apprised of activity options - and more importantly, options that were closed due to the circumstances. We were also given a free movie pass, which allowed us to watch a movie in our room (since there was nothing else to do!) and it was taken off our bill at check out. We even ordered room service one night, and the prices were very reasonable. Even under adverse weather conditions, our stay was very nice thanks to the hotel personnel. :-)

Nice but aging

Overall, the Hyatt Regency in Bethesda, MD is a very nice hotel but our room did show its age. The marble-like floor tiled bathroom probably needed the most upgrading. It was very clean and well furnished, however the tiles were cracked and almost appeared worn out. There was no exhaust in the bathroom which made it a bit "stuffy" after showering. The bath was meticulously clean. The hotel staff throughout was excellent, most friendly and accomodating to our requests. Room service was exemplary and the deliveries were always on time and delivered in a very cordial manner. The food and the selection was very very, very good and the selection quite adequate.

Bethesda’s most convenient

Excellent hotel located directly above a Metro stop (about 20 minutes from National airport). Room looked recently redecorated--great mattress! Due to snow, we unexpectedly entertained in hotel grill which had an interesting menu and nice service. We’ll use this hotel again.

Good Location

The location of the hotel is great. The Metro is immediately below the hotel with fast access to Rockville and the DC area. We found the Metro to be much faster than surface transportation. There are lots of good to great restaurants nearby.

Bethesda’s Best

We have stayed at this hotel 3 times mainly because of its location right above the Bethesda metro station. Also, it is a block away from a major gocery store, several eateries and a short walk to Bethesda Row with all its restaurants and shops. The staff members are friendly and helpful and our stays have been very pleasant.

Great location, great hotel, but $10 a day for internet??

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is literally right on top of the Metro station, so it’s an ideal place if you’re heading into D.C. The room was elegant and comfortable. Only complaint is that things which are complementary at other hotels I’ve stayed at--parking, internet access, a mini fridge in the room--were only available at an additional charge here. In addition to the $10 per day for internet, parking is $10 a day and the hotel does not validate for its guests.

The "Daily Grill" at the hotel serves quality food, but there are dozens of restaurants in easy walking distance. I recommend the Original Pancake House at 7700 Wisconsin Ave for breakfast.

Will stay again when i’m in DC area

I like the atrium set up of the hotel because it looks spacious and bright inside.

Haven for a hectic stay

We stay here whenever we go to visit our son who’s in school in Washington DC, this hotel is only two metro stops away from him. Its a very nice hotel and a great place to retreat when we are finished with a frenzied stay in a busy city!

Uncle Julio’s Rio Grande is a short walk from the hotel and has terrific mexican fare.

There are several very unique and tasty restaurants directy across the street from the hotel. The metro is just a few feet away. One can get anywhere in DC, including the Reagan airport, very easily and cost effectively.

Excellent Hotel and service

Overall would have to rate this hotel an A plus. Hotel is in great location, right above metro stop, and within easy walking distance to many great restaraunts. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful . highly recommended

although restaraunt in hotel is very good it is a little pricey. Try the pancake house for breakfast only two blocks away. The pancake house has over 30 types of pancakes as well as other breakfast items portions are large and food is very very good. Also try BGR It is a burger joint about 5 blocks away but well worth the walk

Okay, Hotel.

Hotel was okay...I booked with the continental breakfast and it was not stated at the front desk with my reservations. Luckily, I printed the confirmation of my reservations and it stated that I had continental breakfast for the 7 days I was there. But I needed to show proof and had to return to the front desk area twice to get the coupons. Print your confirmation and take it with you.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

If you are planning to visit D.C. then recommend you stay closer to D.C. Baltimore was too far, traveling with the metro and taxi. Didn’t have much places to eat, fast food, etc. Only 1 McDonalds in the area. Lots of small restaurants but if you stay 7days this will be costly.

Luxury and convenience at Hyatt Regency Bethesda.

My wife, grand kids, and I spent three nights at the Hyatt. The Grand Kids enjoyed the pool. The metro, buses and subway were less than a block from the hotel. We took the subway to union station and the double decker bus tours from there to see the sites at Washington DC. The food at the hotel was good, but pricey. There are several restaraunts within walking distance.

There are several restaraunts that are economical in the nearby area. The neighborhood seems safe and we were not afraid to walk down the street at night.

The cleaning people did not clean our room well. tub still had soap ring for 5 days.
