Except for...
Except for the front desk clerks- I was impressed with the Hilton. I checked in wearing my work cloths (jeans & a black T-shirt) that were clean but apparently turned off the front desk staff. Everyone else was great including the bell hop who told me where I could buy a decent shirt & where to eat, & the folks at the restaurant where I decided to eat. And then when I was checking out & taking some pictures of the view the maintenance guy who offered to take a picture of me with Port of Spain in the background. So overall impressed.

Hotel Stay
The hotel was quite okay to stay at. The staff are quite friendly, but we had a challenge with our mini-bar as refrigerator was not working, and it took more than a day for them to get around to solving the problem. The facility seems a little old, but has great potential.
Traveler's tip on nightlife
There is a local bar called Studio, which is a small but great place to hang and meet people. Good music, great service and it opens until about 2:30am

they treated me like a queen
this was one of the best hotels i have ever stayed at. the staff was not only friendly but also very helpful. they even helped with tours to take of the island. my room was kept very clean. it is a very unique hotel because the lobby is on top and the rooms are below.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
the coolest things to see are the pitch lake, the bird sancturay, and the nature center in the rain forest. these are amazing and you should not miss them.
