Quick stay in Rome

Perfect for staying at the airport and making an early morning flight. Breakfast doesn’t start until 6:30 a.m., though, so you might have to get something else if you’re on a real early flight. Be prepared, check-in can be rather slow because passports will be checked and information entered for non-citizens. Staff was otherwise pleasant in spite of the long delay with check-in.

Not impressed

Bar and dining experience was unpleasant. Staff was more involved with romantic adventures behind the cash register than attentive to customer service...all in plain view of our table by the register of the dining area. Shuttle bus service to Rome was very helpful.

excellent hotel to catch plane back to states. easy access to terminals.

comfortable hotel, recommend highly. reastaurant good for both lite and full meals. food was very good and priced reasonably.

Good place for one night

This is a great place to stay for one night We had an early flight & used their shuttle service with no problems.

Terrible value for the price, would not stay there again

The phone was not working in the room, the air-conditioning was broke in the room, the food was terribly overpriced in the resturant, the quality of the food was awful in the resturant.

Picked the hotel as it was close to the airport - that is the only reason to stay at this hotel.

Not Impressed...for a Hilton?

*The overhead walkway from the airport to the hotel is a v-e-r-y long walk, even though most of it is moving. By the way, the airport does not open the doors at the end of the walkway until 6am! *The air conditioning was almost non-existent. We’ve heard this to be true in Europe but did not have this problem while staying in the actual city of Rome itself. *The free shuttle from the hotel to the city and back was GREAT!

convenient, clean but way overpriced

Yes, this is THE place to stay if you have an early flight out of FCO... BUT for the price they could do what we take for granted in the States. Such as, have a business center with free internet hookup instead of way too many euros (I guess you can’t mention prices)for limited usage. The restaurant food is definitely Hilton, not Italian. In fact, one item my husband ended up being served did not even match the menu description. No refunds of course, just apologies. When we got to our room, exhausted there was a pounding sound coming from an aerobics class going on somewhere near our room. Nice touch Hilton! The room is comfortable, breakfast was good and started early so that you could take advantage of it. When we left we felt that it was a case of price gouging.

I would recommend the Rome airport Hilton only if you need to leave Rome EARLY. If you have a later flight you may find more for your money elsewhere.

Loved that hotel is right at the airport.

Hotel was very nice. Free shuttle to downtown Rome was very convenient. Loved that I could walk right to the airport.

Would definetly recomend!

It was very conveient to the airport, and liked the shuttle into the city.The staff was very helpful and very nice. Would definetly recomend this hotel and would definetly stay there again.

Rome Hilton overpriced convienience

I booked this hotel due to the convienience of the airport via skywalk.The hotel in itself was fine, not exceptional.The hotel is accessible via skywalk although quite a hike.Hotel fails to inform you that they offer shuttle service even though when asked they told us we had to take the skywalk.When we went to leave a bellhop saw us with bags and offered the shuttle.The restaurant in the hotel was very expensive with poor service and horrible food, a bad experience and that was only lunch.We skipped dinner and went into Rome for a decent meal.For the convience of the airport it may be worth it but for the price other hotels would work just as well.

Highly recommend

We were pleasantly surprized with the quality of hotel service. Convenience with skywalk to airport made transfer a breeze. Their numerous downtown shuttles back and forth to city center gave us a full day of sightseeing without paying the hefty 70 dollar taxi ride (each way). This helped justify the hefty room rate. We would highly recommend the hotel.

NIce but expensive

The rooms are very nice, but they charged too many Euro just for a small bottle of water in the mini-bar in the room. Hamburgers, in the cafe or room service, cost much too many Euros or more. Convenience to the airport for an overnight between flights made this a good choice -- avoided taxi fares to other hotels, but the food costs and high room price probably took care of any "savings".

Great for a short visit

Hotel was good, a little expensive but it had free transportation to and from downtown Rome. Breakfast was ok and the hotel staff were helpful so there wasn’t much really to anything complain about.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Use the hotel bus, it’s comfortable and it has a reasonable schedule so you can enjoy Rome.

Serviceable if expensive.

Having to take an early morning flight from Fiumicino, the hotel was chosen for an overnight stay for the direct connection with the Airport. It did the job. This is the type of place some flight crew member might use. Given the nature of the place, I was surprised they did not offer an express check-out option.

Rome airport Hilton

The hotel did not have us listed for the morning breakfast, but I had the printout from Expedia, so the begrudingly honored it. However, every morning when I went down for breakfast I had to show the printout, because they did not notify the restaurant. Also the air conditioning was inadequate. Also, the key kept demagnifying and I had to constantly get a new one. I have been to this hotel at least once a year for the past 12 years and never had this much trouble. This hotel is very convenient to the airport, if you have a morning flight.

convenient

While this hotel was convenient, it lacked many services. First, we were told there were no shuttles running tot he airport at 7:00am on a Sunday... weren’t we staying at the Rome Hilton AIRPORT? Why wouldn’t there be shuttles? We were told we had to walk through a tunnel for 15-20 minutes to get to the airport. Also, the dinner was very expensive for the buffet. We had no idea it was a COLD buffet, with no food offered, until we went up there to get our food. Who serves a dinner buffet without one hot item? Last, virtually everyone in our bright blue wing of this hotel had touble getting his/her key to work to open the room door. My parents had to have their key remade downstairs and they stood behind two other couples in line, waiitng to do the very same thing. The bellboy struggled with our key, but finally got it open. As we went for dinner, an older couple asked us for help getting into their room. They said they had been trying for several minutes. This seems to be a big enough issue that it should be addressed.

Welcoming when we were ready to come home BUT

The hotel was clean and welcoming and the room service expensive but excellent. But I was not pleased to return home and find room service/food services had been charged twice to my credit card. A call to Hilton straightened it out in a few days, but this should never happen.

Rome

Hotel was nice, TV channels were limited but other than that no real complaints. Staff was very friendly as well. The free shuttle to ancient Rome was a nice perk too.

Nice end to trip

Nice ’American’ hotel stay after 2 weeks in Italy and Greece, love the showers and cleanliness of the room. Only complaints were how expensive the brunch was ($36 Eu) but overall restaurant’s food was excellent. Really enjoyed the cheeseburger. Also, had to take a shuttle to our terminal...advertised walkway only goes to a certain airline’s terminal, not ours. Hitched a ride with the crew’s shuttle so no expense, otherwise could be costly.

Hot, strong showers and modern bathrooms...a welcome site at the end of a 2 week jaunt through Greece and Italy. Incredible air conditioning - loved it for our scorching hot summer visit. Pricey, but a real treat to end your stay and begin the long flight home. Great, welcoming staff!

Hilton rates with Courtyard Hotel comfort

Not exactly a compliment. Such an important hotel for Rome cruisers, in general, the value is not there. But you have little choice if you are staging a return from Rome. Beds not very comfortable, rooms very basic, food less than avg. Front desk service was pretty good.

Give youself plenty of time to get to the airport terminal. Two hours before flight time is not enough.

Convenient to airport

The hotels convenient if you need it for a stop over. The hotel hall ways were in need of a good cleaning and the rooms are ready for some updating but otherwise it was clean & comfortable.

restaurant service

The service in the hotel was top notch until we decided to go to dinner. We sat in the bar for a while and decided to go in and have a salad. When we were seated we waited a long time for a server, and then the waiter that came didn’t speak english. I tried to tell him that I didn’t need a menu, as I was ready to order. He just assumed we wanted the buffet and left. We waited 20 more minutes thinking someone speaking english would be sent over. Finally we got up and asked the hostess if we could sit in the area just outside the restaurant at a table and I wanted a salad. I waiter brought my salad and bread. When we were done they brought us the wrong bill, and the waiter said to pay it anyway, it was the same price. We had to ask the hostess to correct it and it wasn’t the same price when we got our bill, our bill was actually several euro less. When I was served my food, no one ever came back to see if it was satisfactory or if I wanted anything else. I was very disappointed with the service in the restaurant, but want to stress the the service at the front desk was very good.
