Central Location

Great, Basic Hotel in a good central location in Sydney, three minutes walking distance away from the Musuem Train Stop.

Buy the combined red/green bus, ferry and train pass for $AUS 46; best deal to help you get around Sydney.

Awesome-azing!!!!

This is a wonderful hotel! It is in a great location, really close to a metro station(musuem). Hotel was really great, staff we somewhat nice, not the most friendly, but nice. Sink, microwave, and fridge in room, I suggest bringing some Starbucks Via! Overall we were extremely statified and felt safe!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

There are not many places to eat around but if you walk about 1 1/2 towards surry hills you will hit some INCREDIBLE places to eat! I am a huge foodie, go to TOAST CAFE it’s soooo good! I suggest buying the "tour pass" for the boat ride that goes from the rocks/opera house to a great island for some wonderful fish and chips and then to the sydney zoo(a ticket to the zoo included) all for $54

Just what I needed at a great price

This hotel was basic, clean, and had a good location for a very reasonable price. Although a small hike to Circular Quay, I didn’t mind the exercise at all. A block away from Hyde park and Chinatown. There are also restaurants and bars nearby. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay there again.

Will stay again & convenient

Stayed 3 nites at the Travelodge, room was small but comfortable. Bathroom, TV (flatscreen), tea/coffee maker/microwave all clean & functional. Bed was comfortable, Bathroom clean & plenty of hot water. Good location, block from the Museum train station, so easy to get to from the Sydney airport train. Plenty of food, bars, coffee & internet cafe options in the area. There is a internet station with 3 or 4 computers set up by the lobby. 24 hr convenience store opposite hotel. At night you need your key card to enter lobby & elevators. It is a healthy 20-30 minute walk to the Circular Quay/Opera House area. I did this walk every day, plenty of places to see/stop along the way. Just head out & walk down Pitt Street. My rate wasn’t much more than some of the not so good hostels in Sydney, so I was very happy with the low rate & location.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Use the Airport train, but leave extra time in case of delays. Buy your ticket in advance in case your traveling during rush hour so you’re not waiting in a long ticket line. Use luggage with wheels, wear comfortable shoes. Watch your belongings at internet cafes. Walk thru the Botanical Gardens for a different view of the Harbor Bridge & Opera House. Harbor bridge climb was great and worth the price.

Comfortable Room; Uncomfortable Bed

Hotel is in a great location. Easy to get to several points throughout the city via coach/bus services as well as train services. The rooms, in general, are comfortable with good amenities. I happened to stay in two separate rooms (two visits)and the staff was very accommodating. The beds, however, were somewhat uncomfortable and left much to be desired. Overall, I would recommend the hotel for a leisurely; but short stay as not to be muscularly sore from the bed situation.

Good for its price.

For the very good rate they offer, I think you cannot find anything better than Travelodge. It’s very well located, it is walking distance to many attractions and close to the bus stop and train station. The breakfast was good, it also had a mini fridge and microwave oven. Not luxurious, but good. The TV channels are the poorest but no one goes to Sydney to watch TV...

Very Nice Stay

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean, and had a nice feature where they would just remake the bed and do a quick cleaning in order to be more environmentally friendly. kitchenette was useful for quick breakfasts and snacks.

trust dont think twice..and gor it...u wont regret it...u can thank me later:))

Ive had my share of travels in the past years ranging from 1star hotels to 5 star hotels and from the middle east ,europe, and north america. For me this hotel i booked for 5 days ended up staying for 3 weeks. Location was awesome 3 min to the station, 2min form hyde park, 7 min from central station.. now i got the best price and i recommend expedia really had the cheapest..im surprised..the hotel frankly gives what u want from a 5 star hotel. like cleanliness, space, view, location, service..but all the things i hate like over priced minibar in the fridge..we had a vendor machine with pepsi cheaper than the stores downstairs.. and the same time i was getting the price for me and my wife better than i would get at a backpacker hostel...overall...very very pleased and happy with my 3week stay...felt like i was at home...cuz usually after 2 weeks u get sick of the hotel stay not here...they even had a microwave and small sink in the room...for Gods sake...really could ask for more...loved it

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

try expedia before booking..u might be surprised with the price....really...1st time i use expedia

Excellent Value

This was a good, clean, quiet, comfortable hotel for a low price. The only problem I had was that the shower was constructed such that water got all over the floor in the bathroom when you used it so that was a bit of problem, but otherwise this was a great place to stay. It’s located very near a train stop and Hyde Park so it’s a great location at a great price. I’d stay there again.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Beware if you use a hotel on Expedia for business and you want to split the rate with someone, the hotel (any hotel) will NOT give you a reiceipt - the only receipt you get is from Expedia.

Nothing but good to say.....................

As a first timer to the City, I’ve selected the right Hotel to stay; room is clean, I specially like their simple shower stand, room also has a refrigerator, microwave oven. Front Desk is helpful. This is a non-smoking hotel.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

This Hotel Location is centralized. Walking distance to Museum & Central Station. If you plan to explore the City yourself, purchase Pass from the Station, with a map, you can utilize fully on Sydney’s public transportation system. train, bus & ferry.

Value For Money

My wife and I recently stayed there for a couple of weeks. The housekeeping can be improved (by a lot), sometimes we didn’t get any fresh towels even though we left it in the shower (as instructed), etc. We had a good rate from the hotel so we can’t really complain much. Moreover the kitchenette with the microwave comes in handy during those carving moments. All in all, not too bad, for the same rate I will definitely recommend it to anyone.

not the USA Travelodge!

great location in the heart of Sydney. Walked everywhere. Never ate Breakfest so no comment on that. I had a room on the 16th floor and the water pressure was great and never went hot/cold. The room was always cleaned. It isn’t the Ritz but it was great for my needs.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Go to Bondi beach, Manly beach, climb the Sydney Bridge, take a tour of the Blue Mountains, go to Government House on the weekend so you can take the free tour. shop at Coles supermarket two city blocks from hotel. The small mart across the street from the hotel is super expensive and a rip off.

Extremely good value

Convenient location for all transportation. Walking distance to restaurants etc. It’s a hotel to sleep comfortably in, not to spend much relaxation time in.

Exactly what I expected- with a few bugs

Travelodge Sydney is in a very convenient location, it is only a few blocks from Museum Train station and numerous bus stops. I would recommend this hotel for people that realize they’re not staying in a fabulous 5star quality hotel- they’re staying at a relatively inexpensive (for Sydney) hotel that nicely provides a (very) small kitchenette. There were some negatives- the kitchen sink water smelled horrible, the hot water in the shower tended to surge, there were tiny fruit-fly-like bugs that came out of the shower, there isn’t a balcony and the windows don’t open so you cannot have fresh air unless you go outside. All that being said, I would go back to this hotel. I stayed for 26 nights, and the tiny incidents I mentioned above were made up for with the cleanliness (the cleaners were amazing fast & thorough, they even washed my dishes!), hospitality (they immediately replaced a glass I broke & didn’t charge me for it), safety, and location of this hotel.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Buy a TravelPass for the length of your stay (1day, 3, or weekly) and then use it to take a train to the store (many stores are found at bigger train stations, ie Town Hall, Wynard, etc) to buy groceries, its MUCH cheaper than the convenience store.

Excellent value and location

Very comfortable room and convenient location. Only issue is you need to learn how to use the elevator; be sure to ask the front desk staff.

Traveler's tip

It’s quicker to take the train to the airport rather than the shuttle, which goes all over the city and may run late.

Great location!

This is a great location. Two blocks from the Museum railroad station or an easy walk to the Quay through the many parks for those who like to walk. Use the train to get to the hotel from the airport if you do not have too much luggage to handle on the railroad stairs. Convenience store on the corner is a handy place to pick up drinks and snacks for your hotel refrigerator.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

The Sydney travel pass is a good deal if you are staying for over three days. The pass allows transportation to and from the airport on the railroad, unlimited rides on the State’s Hop on Hop Off buses, regular buses and ferries. I more than got my money’s worth. Also allows you discounts at many of the major attractions when you show your ticket.

Travelodge - Wentworth - Sydney

The hotel is close to the Museum CityLink metro stop which is the same line from the airport. The hotel room itself is just fine. Remember, you get what you pay for. This is an affordable option while staying in Sydney. I normally don’t complain because lets face it, its a room to sleep in. However, the shower sucks not only because water gets all over the floor but, also because the water never stays the same temperature. I stayed here for a total of 9 days over two different trips and had the same issues. With that being sad, decent hotel in a great location.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

AUD $2.00 = 20 minutes down stairs Grocery stores on Oxford street but best to find a WoolWorths Red or Green travel card is best bang for your buck if using CityRail, Bus or Ferry. These passes are good for all 3 and you can buy them for 1 day, 3 day, 7 days or for a month.
