Great Location
A work colleague stayed at Hotel de Suede several years ago and recommended it to us. We are so glad that we stayed here. Conveniently located near 3 Metro stations (5-10 minute walk), we were able to go wherever we wanted in Paris on public transportation. The room was clean and comfortable with enough closet space for our clothes. The bathroom appeared to be recently renovated. The hotel staff, particularly Thomas, was very accommodating. Breakfast was provided for a cost each morning. Id suggest going just up the road to buy something on your way. The only drawback to our stay (this will sound funny) was the very limited selection of television channels. We read this in one of the earlier reviews and thought it was funny, but it was so true. At the end of a long day of touring museums, it would have been nice to unwind with a bit of TV. There were only 6 channels and only CNN was in English.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Definitely consider getting a Paris Pass. It included admission to 60+ museums, a metro pass for the length of our stay, a brief description of each museum and which metro station to use. Most importantly, it saved us time waiting in long ticket and admission lines.

Tired but great location
Hotel de Suede was very clean, as other reviewers have mentioned, but was a bit tired and noisy. Noise wasnt due to outside, i.e., the street, but due to room doors slamming and paper-thin walls. As a single traveler, I was very concerned about lack of security with front desk staff who gave me my room key without checking my identity (and who had not checked me in or seen me previously). The front desk staff was pleasant, but not overly accommodating. As an example, after making a transatlantic flight, I wanted an early dinner and the clerk stated that restaurants werent open until 7pm -- no offer to find somewhere or something that I could eat. I had to search one out on my own - which of course I found about two blocks away. The location and general area is incredibly safe and central to restaurants and attractions. If you need a clean place to stay, can sleep through noisy doors and neighbors, and are self-sufficient in terms of your dining and entertainment needs, this hotel is for you.
