A Paris Gem
This small hotel on Avenue General Le Clerque is a true sleeper. It is modestly priced by Paris standards, clean, across the street from a subway stop, and staffed by a friendly family. There are wonderful sidwalk cafes and other stores in the area. Major attractions are 2 to 3 miles away, and the walk is beautiful. Compliment natives on how well they speak English, and they will glow and be most helpful. I want to go back!
This hotel is modestly priced but a great place to stay. It offers good information abuot tours, transportation, restaurants, currency exchange, and almost everything the torist needs to know. It is safe.

Good value, good hotel
The hotel was on the second to the last stop of the metro so it was a little out of main part of town, but it was nice, clean and cheap. The hotel staff were extremely polite, nice and helpful with orienting us to the city and the major sites. I would recommend this hotel for someone looking for a reasonable priced place to stay in Paris.

Excellent location!
This was our second visit to Paris and we were very happy with this hotel. The location was very good with a metro station literally across the street! A larger transfer station just a block away. It had a feel of a neighborhood unlike the industrial area we stayed before. There was a little store located 2 doors down, with a starbucks, boulangerie "bakery" with wonderful baguettes close by. Wonderful restaurants reasonably priced and english was spoken at all the businesses. Overall very nice place to stay. The hotel staff was cheerful even when we came in at 1 or 2 am. The hotel was quiet and the neighborhood felt safe!!! Will definately return and highly recomment this hotel!!!

Great Value
Hotel was very convenient to RER and Metro train station. From there you can get anywhere in Paris. Walked to many destinations. Staff was very helpful. Checked us in early and held our luggage after our check out. Room was clean ableit somewhat cramped for three of us but very quiet even though we faced the street.
Took RER from Airport to train station and walked to hotel. Saved money vs. cab fare. Also ate breakfast at McDonalds just down the street to save cash.

convenient location
this was my second year at this hotel. front desk reception was very good. maid service was better last year. the location is close to an rer station(for cdg airport) and metro is across the street. my room this year was in front of hotel. so traffic from this large avenue could be heard. rooms in the back of hotel are better. that was where my room was last year. but i will probably go back to this hotel again.

A bit out of the way from major sites!
The Hotel is not too expensive, but it is a bit far from the major sites. However, there is the Mouton-Duvernet metro station just across the road. We decided not to take breakfast at the hotel. One time we went to Boul. Montparnass to have breakfast at either Le Dome or La Rotonde or La Coupole or Le Select - excellent service, better food than hotel and even charging less than the hotel. The rest of the days we had breakfast at the nearby Cafe Daguerre, corner of General Leclerc and Daguerre: 3 choices of breakfast, very filling! We arrived in the afternoon. That day and the following the lift was out of order and our room was on the 5th floor. Imagine going up and down all those steps in a ridiculously steep and winding staircase! We were in a triple room (3 straight men) and one of the beds was a double. Just mentioning, we didnt mind it but some might! The so-called minibar only contained three small bottles of water. Sometimes wed drink two bottles and leave a half-finished one outside the fridge. Whenever this happened, only 2 bottles were replaced! Bathroom was ok. We didnt really make use of any other services at the hotel, though all staff seemed to speak some English. I cant really vouch for this seeing that whenever I spoke some French everybody (not only at the hotel) invariably replied in French. Be aware that the lift is an incredibly tight fit.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
If arriving at Orly, take Orlyval train to Antony, then RER B to Denfert-Rochereau. Easy walk from D-Rochereau to hotel, not worth changing to metro; few escalators in metro, and changing lines involves long walks and flights of steps. If leaving through Orly in morning, dont try catching RER to Antony, it will be packed. Take Orlybus. Doubt whether Paris Visite card is worthwhile. Best deal is to buy carnet of 10 tickets.

Good budget hotel for Paris
Rooms are small but clean, elevator very small. A metro station is just acrooss the street. Location is very good if you plan to use the metro, if not a little far away from tourist atractions. If you want a want a budget hotel to arrive at night this is a good option. It has free wi-fi, which was great for my teen age daughters.
The hotel is located five blocks from Denfert Rochreau RER station where you can take the train to the airport CDG. In the way, there is a Monoprix, Zara, pharmacie, boulangeries, etc.

Outside central Paris but across street from Metro
The Hotel Nouvel Orleans was excellent although not in central Paris. It is in the Montparnasse area, walking distance to the catacombs (must see) and across the street from a Metro stop. There is a marketplace with boulangeries, patisseries, and the best roast chicken in the world! The hotel was very clean, service was good, quaint area although a short Metro ride to the Champs Elysee area. Not all that inconvenient, actually. Next time, I probably would stay in a more central location, however, nothing negative to say about his hotel.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Go to the marketplace right down the street, buy a roast chicken or two, a couple scoops of potatoes, and you can eat for far less than the local cafes. Delicious! There are also two McDonalds within walking distance if you must have a Big Mac.

Nice place...small for a triple....long metro ride
Great stay....rooms are very small, and it is quite a hike on the metro. Not within walking distance of any major sites. If you dont mind the longer metro rides, it was a great value.

close to RER and across street from Metro
Room is small but is probably like others in Paris. Hardly any room to move about. Not big enough for more than two people.

Very clean place, convenient location
Room was very clean. Front desk staff were very helpful (spoke English). Hotel is very close to the metro and the food was good at the nearby brasseries. Room size is much smaller compared to American standards. The shower is very small, may be 2.5 feet x 2.5 feet in floor area. Otherwise nice place.

Convenient, friendly, clean, well-located for metro, bus and restaurants
I have stayed 3 times in Best Western Nouvel Orleans, most recently in August 2008 - each time in a triple room because of children. The rooms are reasonably-priced, comfortable, well-appointed and bright. The bathrooms are variable, ranging from small with miniscule shower enclosure to sizeable with full bathtub & enough floor area to swing a small cat. In each case the cleanliness and presentation were impeccable. The elevator is just about enough to hold 3 small people with a suitcase or two. The convenience of the hotel (bus and metro stops just out the front door)and the friendliness of the staff make up for any such faults. The restaurants in rue Daguerre (a short walk) are great. I will certainly use this hotel again.
Traveler's tip
Although the metro entrance is just opposite the hotel in Avenue du General Leclerc, using buses in Paris is a worthwhile skill to develop. The bus stop is almost directly in front of the hotel and it is much more pleasant to be above ground, enjoying the scenery of Paris, than to be in a crowded metro train without air conditioning. A bus ride gives one a relatively cheap tour of the city. The traffic may be slow at times but so much the better for looking around.

Absolutely fine.
Great value compared to other Pparis hotels. Room small (by American standards) but fresh & clean. Across the street from the metro, and two stops (10 minutes) from Montparnasse Blvd. with several wondeful restaurants. I recommend this hotel as a very good value.

Perfect for On the go types
This hotel was in a good neighborhood right across from a Metro stop and about 3-4 blocks away from the Catacombs. Our room was small (there were 4 of us though), but really clean and the hotel staff were very helpful. It was a bit noisy with the windows open, but with them closed, I slept very well.

Great Base for Paris Vacation
We stayed at the Nouvel Orleans for seven nights recently. We booked a triple room, number 203. The room was very clean but a little cramped for three people. The bathroom was surprisingly large and very clean. The safe and mini-fridge were a definite plus. The hotel is in a safe non-touristy area and within walking distance of both the Mouton Duvernet and Denfert Rochereau Metro Stations making it an excellent base for all the Paris attractions. We enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to use the hotel for our future stays in Paris.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Get your coffee at McDonalds just north of the hotel. You need a one Euro coin to dispense it from the machine on the right as you walk in. The boulangerie just across the street from the main Denfert Rocherau station is a great place for croissants and other breakfast treats.

Small
I will recommend this hotel as long as the prospective user has no trouble with the word "small." The hotel personnel was friendly and helpful but the beds were hard. We liked the closeness to the Metro and the RER. It made getting around in Paris very easy. We had a quiet stay and the AC worked. Neighborhood quaint.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
There are 3 Monoprixs (small food markets) within 2 blocks of the hotel. The hotel has a small refrigerator. Those 2 things helped us save a bit of money on food.

A nice hotel in a convenient Paris location.
The hotel is small, without many amenities. But if you want a good place to stay, close to cafes, buses, subway and trains, it is good. The breakfast in the morning is ten Euros, a bit expensive. There is internet access for a fee. The elevator is tiny, and the stairs steep and narrow. The 24 hour desk clerks are pleasant and speak English. Although our room faced a busy street, the sound of traffic was minimal. It was a quiet neighborhood, but was close to sidewalk cafes. Other attractions are a quick subway ride away.

Very nice hotel and friendly staff. We had a great time in Paris. The metro is across the street from hotel and the bus stops practically right there. The neighborhood was lovely. Cant wait to go back!
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Great location, nice hotel
Cant beat the location. Its in a nice neighborhood, with restaurants, shops, and a grocery store nearby. There is also a pharmacy next door and a metro station across the street. The hotel is outside the city center, so the metro is must. This location works well if youre traveling with kids. There is a McDonalds down the street and a Pizza Hut right around the corner. You may find they will come in handy, since many restaurants dont have childrens menus. The hotel room itself was nice, but small. The bathroom was larger than I expected. Everyone on the hotel staff spoke English, so that helped a lot. I would stay here again.
Traveler's tip on dining
There is a great restaurant called Cafe D Enfer on Rue Daguerre. Excellent food at great prices. Dont eat breakfast at the hotel. Its not worth the price. There are good pasticeries all over. Moisan, across from McDonalds, is a must.

Great for the price
If you are looking for a hotel in the middle of all the tourists spots, this is not the place to go. . .BUT, it was very easy to get to by train from all the main attractions (stop is right across from the hotel). Near many restaurants and quaint bakeries. Hotel room was a bit tight (normal by european standards) but was absolutely pristine. Worth every penny and more.

We liked the hotel
Very nice room for 3 people. Loved the bathroom. the front desk spoke English and were patient with us. They got us a cab for our early morning trip to the airport. Thumbs up!
Traveler's tip on dining
Nice Italian restaurant just down the street. Many markets nearby to purchase pastires, wine, cheese, etc.. Grocery is very close also. Dont drink soft drinks while in Paris they are between 5 - 7 dollars each.

great hotel for great price
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Nouvel Orleans for 4 nights. The hotel room was extremely small but very clean and nice but I hear most the rooms in Paris are small. It was difficult to move around with our suitcases in the room. The staff was friendly and spoke english well. There was only one lift and you can only fit one person and a suitcase. The hotel was far from central paris but the Mouton Duvernot station was right across the hotel which made traveling easy. I would recommend this hotel to any budget traveler but is still looking for comfort and quality.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Make sure you visit the Opera Garnier. It was absolutely stunning!!
