Park Inn Berlin-Alexanderplatz
We attended a wedding, and this hotel was near the places we needed to be. It was a real find! Besides being centrally located, it had air conditioning which was important because of the August heat wave. Looked like it had been fairly recently remodeled. The room was small but very comfortable and clean. Service was excellent. We needed and iron and board, and it was delivered within 5 minutes. Everyone was very friendly, and the price was very reasonable. We will definitely stay there again.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
This is quite near the Alexanderplatz train station which gives you quick and easy access to the S-Bahn and U-Bahn. Both systems are quick and easy to use. The station also restaurants and shop to pick up food/bottles of water, etc. quickly and easily.

Would not stay in the same type room
The hotel is a large hotel with a lot of traffic from people who are not guest, since which makes it seem crowded at times. It is near major shopping and the train. The room was very odd. It had a open sink area with a clear glass shower toilet view, you had to pull a curtain (like in the hospital) to shield yourself when showering or using the toilet and the room was so small barely could turn around - could barely fit my luggage on the floor to open it up. I would not stay in this type of room again if I went. If you plan on going to the casino, which my husband did - it was 5 euro entrance fee and you had to have on a tie and sports coat/jacket. So needless to say he did no gambling since he didn’t have the proper attire.

The Good and Bad
I reserved a business-class room for two stays in Berlin; in between I was traveling for business. My first room was the smallest hotel room I have ever seen. No double bed, no desk, barely room to turn around. It was clean but the AC did not work. I asked at reception to make sure that I would have the type of room I reserved (and paid for in advance!) upon my return. The room I got the second time was a huge improvement. A double bed, a real desk, nice view, working AC. I found service to be perfunctory and not particularly friendly. The location is very convenient, at a major UBahn hub. I would recommend it highly if I had been given the second room for both stays. As it was I paid much too much for the first room.
