Edinburgh’s Best
This was our second stay at the Scotsman, & it was wonderful. From the moment our cab pulled up & the bellman ran out to greet us by name, everything was perfect. The location can not be beat - it is within walking distance of everything. Our room was so comfortable & pleasant to be in. And the shower is the best! The staff were all friendly & professional. This really is a superb hotel!

Scottish Elegance
The hotel was beautiful and the restaurant very good. The only drawback was the beautiful sunny weather we experienced during our 2 days. We loved the weather, but our hotel room had no ventilation and it was quite warm for sleeping comfortably. Other than that, it was perfect.

Cheerful and helpful hotel staff. Great view from the room. One suggested improvement: on busy mornings, the breakfast dining room could not accommodate hotel guests... this situation could be solved with addition of an overflow dining room.

great hotel just off the royal mile
Absolutely lovely place in a great local. I was there during the festival and easy walking distance to most venues. Rooms are a bit smallish but very nicely appointed. Nicest hotel i’ve stayed in in edinburgh.

Great Location, Great staff, phenomenal GYM!!
Perfectly located, even during Fringe and Military Tattoo, concierge got us into every restaurant we requested. We were able to walk everywhere, the staff was very friendly and the gym is phenomenal!!
Don’t walk down the stairs just outside the hotel, it’s a bit seedy looking and smelling, though not "unsafe". Go around toward High street it’s much nicer.

Great location, great service.
Centrally located. Short walk to major sites and train station. Lovely common areas. The rooms were very clean and the bed linens with duvets and down pillows very comfortable. The staff is wonderful - making every effort to assure that you feel welcome and that your stay is comfortable. Will definitely stay there again the next time I visit Edinburgh.

The concierge recommended the hop on-hop off bus tour of Edinburgh. The tour starts in front of the train station and is a great way to see and learn about the city.

Very impressed!
I love this hotel! Very classy, clean, people are friendly. One downside - they don’t have AC but they have a fan in every room. i love the cowshed products! Very close to Royal Mile which is just on the corner...Bus stop is so close and there’s access to the hotel if you’re arriving by train..Highly recommended. We booked the Study room and I was surprised of its size...lots of space..

A Wonderful Place To Stay
We spent 3 nights at this hotel and found it extremely convenient. Our room was beautiful and spacious. Had a couple of bumps that we got through - front desk staff were obviously slightly uncomfortable at first about 2 men sharing one room and one bed (they asked twice if we wanted one room or two rooms, one bed or two beds). Also, when we were looking for tips on a nice tour of the city we could take, the staff did not seem knowledgeable but they quickly recovered the next morning and worked hard to make sure we found a good tour. The rooms are great, the hotel restaurant was terrific - one of the best meals we had. The staff was very friendly.

Superb service.
The service was superb -- from first contact with valet to desk personnel to wait staff in the restaurant at breakfast -- and offered with a warm, genuinely friendly disposition. Everyone encountered on the staff obviously took pride in the hotel and in his/her role in making it a comfortable, inviting place at which to stay.

Great Place to Stay in Edinburgh
This hotel is a wonderful place to stay while in Edinburgh. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room we stayed in (Editor’s room) was very large and comfortable. The hotel is also centrally located between the Royal Mile and Princes St., and right across from Waverly Station (down on Market St.) Glad we made this choice.

Great hotel, excellent service
This month we had an opportunity to spend several days at Scotsman Hotel in Edinburgh. This was a very pleasant stay - we got only positive impressions of services, restaurant food and wonderful swimming pool. Receptionists gave us several good recommendations on our stay in Scotland and helped to make travel arrangements and sightseeng tours. Great job!

Best Hotel in Edinburgh
Our stay was great. I am a US Air Force Officer and the stay in the hotel was the last time I will see my wife until Christmas. I would recommend the Scotsmen to anyone. They treated us extremely well and we had a wonderful time together in Edinburgh.

Scotsman was wonderful!!
The Scotsman staff was superb! All the the recommendations were excellent! They went above and beyond to meet our needs. The location is A-1 also. Everything was within walking distance. We would highly recommend the Scotsman to anyone traveling to Edinburgh.

Great Place to Stay in Edinburgh
Perfect location to venture into the Old Town and the New Town. The service was outstanding- some of the nicest people you will meet anywhere. The room was very comfortable.

Highly recommend the Mussel Inn, the Dome and Stac Polly (Dublin St location) for dinner and Tiles for a sports bar- all in the New Town
