Great Weekend Getaway!
We checked in pretty late and the staff was awake and pleasant! Our room was pretty large with a king sized bed, mini fridge, and microwave! It was very clean and the bathroom was excellent as well. Good water pressure and temperature in the shower! Over all a great weekend and a great place to stay!
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Check out Hiddenite, NC and go to Emerald Hollow Mines for some gem mining!

It’s a roof and a bed
For those needing to stay in Statesville, I would recommend staying elsewhere. To start, the first room we were put in had a leak in the ceiling. Parts of the plaster had broken and fallen onto the couch and floor...where they remained. The next room we were given had the heater stuck on...it felt like 90 degrees. Unfortunately this was the only other available room. We did manage to get the heater unplugged so it was tolerable. On the plus side, the hotel is conveniently located near the interstate.

What you might expect
We have visited this hotel since it was a Holiday Inn Express. We find the suites (2 rooms) connected to be adequate particularly if you are traveling with children. The 2 t.v.s can save the day. The room was fine, however the carpet was coming up some and it was apparent that someone disliked the door between the rooms. The sofa bed was much improved over our last visit. We continue to be amazed at the difficulties the hotel has with the swimming pool. This was the second visit during the summer where the pool was closed for at least a part of our visit. I am not sure how long this hotel will last with a Holiday Inn Express being built across the street. All in all, what you might expect from a Econo Lodge - in my opinion.
Traveler's tip on dining
The hotel offers 10% off at the Waffle House nearby as well as 10% off at the Sagebrush. Both are close by and it is a nice discount.

Average
Room was clean, bath linens were all mismatched and stained. Bed was comfortable, television varied on reception, continential breakfast was good, staff was uneducated and pretty oblivious on how to run a professional hotel business.
