Inexpensive hotel in trashy Brussels district
If you dont mind an overpriced hotel with full trashcans and no wireless in the rooms next to the red light district by the trainstation, this is the place for you.

Clean and quiet with good wireless connections
Overlooking the Botanic Garden and a huge skyscraper, the place is quiet and feels somewhat distant from the usual Bruxelles chaos although it is 3 minutes walk from Rogier and 5 from Gare du Nord. Difficult to locate at first also due to various constructions (get a detailed map in advance). No restaurants or bars nearby, one needs to go to Rogier. Rooms are tiny but clean and the bed was firm and shower strong. I-bahn wireless connection in the rooms. Only weird thing: there is a coffe maker in the room but once I had used up the initial 2 little packs of coffee and the sugar, the next days no replacements. Perhaps I should have asked the reception... Finally, it must be said that although the place where the hotel is perfectly fine and close to a Police station (or at least a pleace where lots of police cars park) going down toward the railway station another 500/700 meters, there is the red light district.
