A good find
Staying at Husa L’illa was a very positive experience. My room was much larger than expected (it even included a sitting area and desk). The staff was cordial and helpful with directions and suggestions for activities. The hotel is located next door to a major shopping area and on a large street (Ave Diagonal). Despite this, I didn’t hear any street traffic from my third floor room and I felt safe walking back late at night by myself. It is a 7 minute walk to the metro and about an hour’s walk to La Rambla. Minor critiques: I had to carry my own luggage to my room and the refridgerator in my room didn’t work very well. Still, given the price I paid I was very satisfied and would highly recommend this hotel to others.

Would not recommend
From the webiste pictures the hotel looked pretty decent and seemed centrally located however when I arrived to the hotel I was very disappointed. The gentlemen at the front desk upon my arrival were not warm and welcoming to say the least and I found the decor very depressing. Luckily my friend had checked in before I got to Barcelona and I was able to cancel the rest of the nightst that I had booked and found another hotel the day after I arrived. I have been in the luxury hospitality industry for 14 years so I have pretty high standards however when a place misses the simple basics like customer service that is unacceptable.

Hotel Husa
Hotel is 8 minute walk to nearest train/metro station. Hotel food is costly but, large mall downstairs has plenty of alternatives and is a very upscale mall and hang out for even younger couples to include an underground upscale nightclub. Request any of the rooms on the 5th floor, or spend the extra money for a larger room, they have two bathrooms and a larger family area.
