Outside needed maint
Lawns needed mowing, weeds cut and could’ve used some paint.

Best Sleep
Stayed overnight only but had a good sleep. This hotel had the best set of sleeping amenities - great pillowtop bed and ample amount of pillows - versus the 2 other hotels we stayed in during my family vacation.

Never Staying There again
The staff was friendly but not competent. The room was fairly clean, but the water pipes were loud. Vagrants (from the apartment complex) were asking for money at the back of the hotel. The outside noise was loud (music, car doors slamming). Trash was littered throughout the motel. Ice machine in back did not work. Televsion was small.

Reno Location
This is a comfortable hotel located between the Peppermill and Atlantis. Good location for less money.

Continental Breakfast is coffee and donuts.

A dump in the desert
What a dump. The room looked like a dingy motel TV murder scene. I normally wouldn’t complain but the swarm of flying termites in the bathroom put it over the edge.

High rating for its class
This is a 1970’s motel (updated), so it’s nothing fancy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free coffee and breakfast rolls in lobby. Room was clean and bath had recently been nicely remodeled to handicap standards - floor and bath completely tiled, adjustable height shower head and foldaway shower seat. Refrigerator in room was surprisingly quiet and came in handy.

Excellent cheap option for south end casino
Great for in-and-out of Reno. Walk to Peppermill Casino, 7-11, fast-food. Heidi’s for breakfast up the street and plenty of places to eat and drink outside of the casino /inexpensive/natural lighting

outdoor pool looks nice, but weather was too cool to try it. Nearby casino is building new indoor pool.

Clean, but nothing fancy
We were happy with our stay. We weren’t in Reno to gamble or go to the casinos. We wanted to just get away and have a clean place to stay, so the Vagabond fit our bill. If you’re looking for glamor, this isn’t the place. It was pretty basic. There was a refrigerator in the room which was a plus for us. The restaurant next door got a little noisy in the evening and it was not easy to make a left turn onto the street, but those were minor issues for us.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
The hotel is very close to downtown, the freeway, shopping and lots of restaurants. There is also a movie theater about three blocks away.

You Get What You Pay For
It was cheap, so our expectations weren’t too high, but we still hoped it would be a little nicer. It was just a place to crash at night.

Just fine for the money
great location close to two major casinos. Clean and quiet. Bed too soft. Would stay here again. Great for the price.

You get what you pay for.
The price of this room was very good, but the shower head did not work very well, the room had an overpowering smell of perfume that gave me a headache, TV reception was terrible and the carpet, though vacuumed, was grimey. The rest of the room was clean. The staff was courteous. The location is good. The lobby is nice as is the appearance from the outside.

It was worth it.
Hotel was about what I expected for the price. Decent rooms, good shower, OK bed. Tried for the room with the refrig and microwave but they were all taken. Overall I would use them again.

Not Bad
The Vagabond Inn wasn’t bad at all. I wasn’t expecting too much to begin with but I ended up being pretty satisfied. I wouldn’t mind staying here again. Pros: Our room was huge! It was pretty much a suite with a king-sized bed, couch, desk, and balcony with chairs and table. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Front desk staff was very nice. Cons: Cleaning staff was loud and noisy outside of the room. They were talking so loud they woke us up every morning at 8am. Landscaping needs work. Everything was old, (thin towels, rusty patio/balcony furniture, clock radio from the 70s) The Cons are really only minor things that don’t really matter in big picture. Very quiet and comfortable hotel. I would recommend it.
