Definitely not 4 star - definitely not going back
In spite of excellent front-desk staff, I would not recommend this hotel. We reserved 2 rooms - 1 room was a suite for 4, the other a suite for 2. There were drops of blood on 1 set of sheets, the floors were filthy and the kitchenette was marginal. One of the coffee-makers (hot water pot) had a film so thick in it, I wondered if it had ever been cleaned. At 12:30 in the morning there was a blood-curdling scream outside the window. While the neighborhood seemed okay, we wondered if we had chosen a questionable area. The front desk staff was excellent in resolving the sheet issue and organizing reservations for dinner. Aix-en-Provence has much to offer and an intriguing "old-town". I would recommend visiting the town, but suggest investigating another hotel.
