Beautiful island ( Hilton Head) beautiful local locale ( Palmetto Dunes) and beautiful hotel ( Marriot Resort) . We’ll be back ! Loved it there.

On Hilton Head, you really need a car to get around. So either drive to get there, or rent a car once you fly in.

Didn’t Exactly Get What We Wanted

We were there for our 10 year wedding anniversary. Was hoping for a very nice ocean view, which is what we upgraded & paid extra for. However, our view was from an angle and needless to say not exactly what I had hoped for when I made the reservations. The hotel staff were very nice but I think overall it is way overpriced and you can stay at a condo next door for way cheaper and actually get the view from your room instead of hanging your head over the balcony to see the ocean.

Forget the hotels and resorts. Look into booking a condo instead so you save on eating out and definitely rent a car!

Public areas of the hotel were very nice but rooms need attention - outdated furniture, who doesn’t have flat screens now and furniture was real worn.

This hotel exceeds all expectations. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Room was a little noisy, but overall clean and had an ocean view.Would definatly recommend for an anniversay or special ocasion.Will be comming back for sure.

Go to Savannah!!! Lots to see and do from dining to sightseeing and lots of shopping.Would recommend the Old Savannah tour.

Early Fall getaway

We have stayed at this resort on several occasions. It has always been a pleasant experience. The hotel is clean and airy, rooms are comfortable and Hilton Head in September is great, crowds are gone weather is not so hot as summer. For a resort directly on the beach we have always found good value here. Often can find various specials making it even more attractive.

Check into special packages offered by the hotel. Especially if you are a golfer you can often find a great deal to include stay and multiple rounds of golf.

Save money and rent a condo

Third time to HHI. First in a hotel. We knew we had to pay to self park however there was ample parking and then you had to walk up a steep hill to get to the hotel. Beach umbrella and chairs are 30 first day. They fail to tell you that it is 18 if you pay up front for additional days. The hotel was beautiful however for the price of hotel and expensive food, parking fees, umbrellas we will stay in a condo in the future. We love the Palmetto Dunes area

Go to Savannah on the river boat. They drop you off at the river front and then you can jump on a trolley and see the historic district. The best dinner we had was at Cranes Tavern. Very high class and expensive but worth every penny

Would do it again

Our visit was just after school had started and we virtually had the hotel to ourselves. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

A wonderful hotel!

Every staff member was very friendly and made us feel right at home. In fact, I cannot think of one staff member...whether assisting us or not...that did not greet us and wish us an enjoyable stay. Our 6th floor room had a spectacular view of the ocean and we could hear the roar of the waves when we stepped out on our little balcony. The bed was very comfortable. Food, while expensive, was delicious - our favorite was the breakfast buffet! The overall environment was as delightful for us (seniors celebrating an anniversary) as well as for families with small children. It is a beautiful, well maintained property in a gorgeous setting.

Renting a car is best as even limited transportation around the island becomes expensive, e.g., it cost $30 for our round trip cab fare to the beautiful St. Francis by the Sea Catholc Church...if we had a car, we would have been able to attend Daily Mass as well as purchased a few grocery items to make better use of our little in-room refrigerator,

Disappointed

We reserved an "ocean front" room rather than an "ocean view". Well, the ocean view wing of the hotel obscured our view by a third. We would of had a full view and paid less with an ocean view room. Hotel is in need of a remodeling/ upgrade which the desk clerk said is going to take place. Our bathroom did not have a tub--only a small, old shower. Our room was at the end of the building--disadvantage. Poolside/oceanside was nice. Food average.

Great location

Loved the location, the pool off of the beach was great to have. Nice to have towels provided so we didn’t have to bring a lot with us. Loved the live music and the friendly staff. The beds were very comfortable and nicely made daily, however the bathroom was very lightly cleaned and the shower didn’t looked clean at all. Some moderate lobby noise if you have a room above the open lobby. Overall, the location and the upbeat staff made up for the downfalls. If the hotel provided slighly more substantial refridgerators (they have a small cooler-like fridge in the armoire)and cleaner showers on arrival, I would definitely go back and stay longer!! Overall, great time.

An average beach hotel

Hotel was quite nice, overall, but not what would be expected for Hilton Head. It felt more like a resort hotel from a beach area in northeast corner of SC. Staff was very good, hotel was clean, but NOT a Marriott. Proximity to the beach was a major plus for my wife and I. It’s a short walk out the "back door". If you don’t want beach, nice large pool available. Would we stay there again...yes!

Can’t wait to go back!!!!

Pulling up to the Hotel the Staff was very friendly and helpful. First off they asked our names and let the check-in staff, know we were on our way in and told them our names. The view from our balconey we could see the pool and the ocean. The staff at the pool was very friendly. We had dinner at the bar since we didn’t want a big meal and waitress were very nice. I could not say a bad thing about our stay.

Convenient place to stay

The hotel has great beach access and an ideal location. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Amenities are fairly standard. I followed others’ advice and upgraded to an ocean view room, which was quite enjoyable. I would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel and pleasant, accomodating staff that cater to guests at their hotel. Location was perfect to get the best of the beach and also conducive to conducting our business. A couple of items that although annoying they didn’t interfere with our trip. The refrigerator would not work and the HVAC would "bang" every 1-1/2 hours at night.

Great beach, pools and activities.

Very relaxing view of the ocean, yet full of opportunities to ride bikes, golf, and sight see.

The stay was fantastic. This was our second trip to the Marriott and the hotel staff was great. They paid constant attention to our needs, were very friendly and accommodating. The only recommendation I have is that the Marriott put a lounge chair on the room balconies in addition to the existing 2 upright chairs. This will allow guests to layout from their room and enjoy the beautiful ocean view.

Great facilities .....except the rooms

Loved our stay and view of the ocean. The hotel recreational facilities were great! However, the rooms were not in the best condition considering the price. Our mattress was being supported by plywood and the tiled shower was in rough shape. Overall, we had a great stay but might try a different place due to the rooms next time.

We would like to bring our children next time

Being at this resort for the first time was a delight. Our daughters would be pleased with all of the activities, ease of everything, and the beautiful grounds.

Wonderful experience

The hotel is beautiful and the staff very attentive. We enjoyed 2 very good dinners at Conroy’s.

Very good hotel

Very good hotel, as expected for Marriot brand. Staff courteous and nice. My regret was having buffet breakfast. Good, but way too expensive. There are so many other options around.

Beautiful view from ocean front rooms and great proximity to tennis courts

We love the proximity of this hotel to the beach, as well as the tennis courts at Palmetto Dunes. Our only complaint was that we could hear the person in the room next to us as though she were in our room. She was up early in the morning talking very loudly and late at night with her loud talking.

Ocean Grille at Shelter Cove across the highway from the hotel has excellent food,

First impression

The staff at the registration desk was extremely polite and helpful. The doormen, valet attendants and restaurant staff were also very accommodating. My stay was during off-peak, so the hotel was nice and quiet. I can’t speak for the busy summer with lots of people and possible longer waits for services. The food at Conroy’s and the lounge was very good and we met some very nice people during our stay.

Great getaway spot

This hotel is tucked away from highway and is a sanctuary for peace and luxury on the Atlantic Ocean. We had a room where the bed actually faced the ocean. It was great and the room was large. They have a great intern program with students from all over the world.

we have stayed here for 4 years in a row and love it.

Service is great. Very clean. We love the beach and the pool area. Lots of things to do. Nice addition of the Hammock Point this year.
