Highly recommend this hotel!
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel was close to shopping, eateries and pubs. We took the taxies to various locations as they were quite a disance to walk for us seniors. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful in obtaining touring info and taxies. Great hotel. Very clean and comfortable. It was a welcome sight at the end of our shopping and touring. Will definetly stay there again!!

Nice but a bit of a hike
Not very centrally located. Its a good 20 minute walk to the main square and train station. We had requested a non-smoking room. The room did have a non-smoking sign on it, but it smelled like a big cigarette. Also the AC wasnt working and our room got quite stuffy. After talking to the front desk the next morning, they were very willing to move us to a more suitable room (with no cigarette fumes and with an AC that worked). The hotel is quite comfy. We enjoyed our stay after moving to a better room (and catching a cab to relieve our blisters).
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Definitely fit time into your schedule to take the train to Edinburgh. Its an easy 45 minute train ride. Concierge has a schedule. Also, the one day tour to Loch Lomond, the Highlands, Glencoe, and Loch Ness is a great way to see the most in a short time span. It is a little touristy but worthwhile. Expect to be exhausted when you get back from the long day though.
