Enjoyable Stay

We stayed in the older part of the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised at the layout, cleanliness, and the condition of the room. The bathroom was disappointlingly small - almost had to step in the tub to close the door past the toilet. The miniture golf was nice. This hotel sits right at the entrance to Moody Gardens, but even so, the approach from the seawall makes you wonder if you are headed to the right area because of the area you pass through - not bad, just obviously older. The continental breakfast is not much to rave about. Overall it was a pleasant, enjoyable stay - this was just a place to lay our heads while we did other things - if you’re going for the experience of the place you stay, then I wouldn’t recommend it.

Not a bad place to stay

The room was clean. I stayed for 3 nights and there was coffee and water in the room when I checked it but it was not replinished each day.

Will Stay There Again!

We had a great experience at this hotel. The location was great (right next to Schlitterbahn and Moody Gardens)! The room was very clean and comfortable. The AC worked FANTASTIC! Very roomy. The little extras were nice...mini fridge, coffee, microwave, bottled water, breakfast, ice machine. We will no doubt stay here again!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Stay in the new section. The parking is always shaded, it is more secure, as you have to have a key just to have access to the elevators, and you don’t have to climb any stairs like in the old section.

WOULD LOVE TO BE THERE RIGHT NOW.

PERFECT LOCATION FOR US. PUTT PUTT GOLF WAS FUN AND FREE. CLOSE TO SCHLITTERBAUN AND MOODY GARDENS AND ALSO MOODY GARDENS CONVENTION CENTER. NOT FAR FROM BEACH. BREAKFAST WAS ALSO GOOD.

Great place, great location, great price !

Our stay at the Inn at the Waterpark was better than I had hoped for. The room we stayed in was in a brand new addition to this hotel. The room was comfortable, roomy, well appointed with comfort stuff (i.e., microwave, mini-fridge, mini-dining table, very well-lit parking garage). The location was just a stone’s throw from Schliterbahn, Moody Gardens and the Lone Star Flight Museum. Next time we head to Galveston, we’ll be staying here !

Great little get a way!

My hubby and I ran away from the kids for the weekend to our favorite spot, Galveston! The hotel was great! We loved the putt putt course at the hotel, this is what will bring us back to this hotel! The room was very clean & had free internet access, also a plus for us who are addicted to Farmtown on Facebook! The pool was a good size, but a little dirty, had to clean it with the bug catcher thing myself. All in all it was a relaxing stay. They had a continental breakfast but we never got out of bed early enough to check it out. I will definitely return to this hotel.Things to do: I recommend Seawolf Park to have a look at a submarine & battleship. Moody gardens rainforest. There is a flight museum right next to the hotel, great for the war history buffs. Personally we have never been to Sclitterbahn (right next to the hotel) or the waterpark at Moody Gardens. We could never jusitfy going to a waterpark when you have the beach & a pool right at your feet. I wouldn’t suggest a ferry ride until they get Bolivar Island back on track, the wait for the ferry is insane since there’s so much rebuilding goin on at Bolivar Island and there’s only two ways in/out: the ferry in Galveston & the highway coming from Winnie on the other side of that island.

Traveler's tip on dining

Great places to eat as we frequent Galveston yearly: The Spot on the east Seawall, a GREAT hamburger & atmosphere! Rainforest Cafe, also on the seawall. Portions are HUGE so two can eat off of one plate, this helps offset the cost of their expensive (but good) meals. Landry’s (very expensive) but a must try at least once, they have great shrimp.

Good hotel for the money

I was very impressed by the hotel. You could tell it was newly re-done. Very clean and tidy. The staff was very accomodating. We would stay here again.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

The put put golf on location kept my kids busy! they loved being able to go right out side and play.

Great Value

Value for a short stay that was all about fishing and not the beach. Covered parking, free minature golf and a large room. Next door to the water park and a short walking distance from Moody Gardens.

Outstanding!

I was concerned, since I know Galveston, and this is an older hotel. Also, with Hurricane Ike being a factor...I was amazed! I have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the past fifteen years as a national factory rep. This was one of the best and most pleasant stays I’ve had. The room was spotless and the hotel staff was courteous and grateful for our business. I would recommend this hotel for business and, especially for families. (The free miniature golf right in front of the hotel was a pleasant surprise.)

Nice hotel

This was a nice hotel, we had a hard time finding a parking spot when we return back to the hotel late that night. The putt-putt golf was fun for everyone in our party. Would stay again. The room was clean and new feeling.

A Mother’s Review

I rented a room here for one night because I was taking my kids to the nearby waterpark. The Inn is only 1-1/2 blocks from the waterpark so it was a big help. The kids enjoyed playing in the pool and miniture golf at the Inn. I had a problem with the small bathroom and the breakfast the next morning. The breakfast was fine to the kids but I would have liked to see more "hot food" options.

good deal

I have stayed at a number of hotels in Galveston since my family lives there, trying to find a good deal. The Inn at the Waterpark has been the best so far for the least amount of money. The rooms are spacious and we didn’t hear any neighbors. Its a bit older with a few dings here and there but for the price I am satisfied. We will definitely stay there again when we are on a budget.

Traveler's tip on dining

The Olympia Grill on the seawall has delicious mediterranean food.

I would stay there again if on a budget

We were first put on one of the rooms on the back side of the hotel but we felt lonely and requested a room in the front side of the hotel with no problems. The view is much better on the front side. This hotel does the job if you just need a clean room to sleep in.

Great Stay

We (myself, wife, and 3 children) had a wonderful stay here. The staff was very friendly and accomadating. For the price you cannot beat this hotel. Rooms were clean and very large. Bed was a little hard for my likes but no real complaints. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The hotel was comfortable without being too big. not too far from attractions and not too close as to be crowdded by tourists. Service was good and amenities sufficient. Most important, my kids liked it

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Close to moody gardens, shlitterbain, not far from the strands, close to seawall.

Loved the hot buffet continental breakfast. Loved the on sight miniture golf.

The staff isn’t very friendly but they are thoughtful. They knew I was traveling alone with kids, they put us next door to the office, which made me feel more safe. The continental breakfast was GREAT! It had eggs, potatoes, beacon, pancakes, pastries, variety of cereals and juices, milk and coffee. The pirate golf course was fun and the kids loved it! Nice size pool and very close to the water park and Moody Gardens. We plan to return this Fall and Winter.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

So many things to do, you’ll never get bored. If you are going to schliterbaun pack your own ice cooler with a lunch, its cheaper then the food they sell. At Moody Garden if you’re just going to the Pyramids you’re fine but if you’re going to the beach/water area, then dress for it. They do have lockers, bring your own lock.

Great Location, Nice Average Rooms

walking distance from schliterbahn & moody gardens (so don’t have to struggle trying to find parking voer there). only bad thing, was the curtains in the room. they only went so far & as i was laying in bed, i can see everyone walking by & everyone can see me. this was for all the windows in the room.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

i just tucked the curtains behind the picture frame to solve the window/curtain problems

Not worth the price

The bathroom had mildew between the tub base and shower. The toilet was dirty. The shower was dirty and the water faucet and knobs were at a 75 degree angel from the wall. (weird) The lighting was dim and the bedding was not in the best of shape. However, the staff was friendly and the continental breakfast wasn’t bad at al
