very family friendly
had a great visit to Grand Rapids and enjoyed the Country Inn & Suites. Our only dissatisfaction was that the hot tub beside the pool was barely tepid, and definitely not hot. After we had walked miles and miles of trails and sights, we would have enjoyed the hot tub. The breakfast was great as were the Monday evening snacks and the cookies in the lobby. Beds were extremely comfortable.
Meijer Gardens is an absolutely must see activity. Well worth the 800 mile trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and a wonderful family destination. We were also very pleasantly surprised by the Gerald Ford Museum. We had almost skipped it, but ended up staying for several hours. Be sure to check the local activities in the summer--we went to a free Worship on the Waterfront on Sunday, free jazz at the zoo on Monday, and a pop concert at the Meijer Garden on Tuesday.
