Wyndham Ocean Walk

Awesome!

We enjoyed our entire stay. Security was a plus! Hotel staff very pleasant and accomodating.

Julians and Billy’s Tap Room are very nice. The Oyster Pub is great for lunch and watching your favorite team or race.

Very happy... one suggestion

Great place to stay I was more than impressed with the size and comfort of the room. The location is the best spot in Daytona. We never used our car the whole time, walked to shopping dinner, beach everything. Super relaxing pool and beach, perfect for kids. One problem...for some strange reason the windows open to the hallway (if you opt for a non-ocean view) And the blinds don’t drop all the way down so people passing can see into your room! As well as the light that comes through when your trying to sleep it was crazy . So we called and they said they hear this all the time and sent maintenance to hang a blanket over the window. This solved the problem but why is it a problem in the first place? So check it out before its the middle of the night and then find out.

Fabulous!

This hotel was very nice. Everything fun is located right next to the hotel. We didn’t have to use our car the whole time we were down there. Not to mention the activites and events going on at the hotel are very fun. I will definately come back to this hotel. It was the best one in the whole area!

Great place to stay

We had a great vacation at the Wyndham Ocean Walk. It was very close to the pier and boardwalk. The swimming pools, water slide, and lazy river were excellent for the kids, however, there were not enough chairs for the number of people staying at the hotel. The rooms were very clean and convenient, but the beds lacked a lot to be desired. Overall, we were very satisfied with the Wyndham and would stay there again.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

The water park across the street is outrageously overpriced, but if you wait until Wednesday night, they offer a discounted special.

A "seaview" balcony room overlooking the pool and beach. Great place to relax for a week. Full kitchen if you want to stay in for a meal.

Great Family Place

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. It is laid out nicely for families and there are so many things for our boys (10, 12) to do from the indoor miniature golf to the outdoors lazy river. One thing I REALLY LOVED was the layout of the hotel. There are two parking garages with the doors to the hotel that open directly to the elevators that take you to your floor. There wasn’t the maze you have to travel to get through a lobby and to your room. This made hauling all our luggage to and from our room very, very easy. In addition, the trip down to the outside pool area was easy. We’re used to spending 10 minutes or longer just walking to get to our car or the pool. That’s simply not the case here. What a wonderful surprise!! Our room was clean and nice. My one and only complaint would be about housekeeping requests. We requested a different mattress pad for the pullout couch because the one in the room was too small. It took over two hours to get it. Likewise when we requested additional blankets and pillows (because there were none in the room for the pullout couch) it took hours. Everything else was top notch. Our boys enjoyed eating the diner-type area in the lobby and concierge was quick and helpful. Parking was easy.

Convenience of the layout of this hotel was a huge factor for us. We didn’t know it when we booked but we were pleasantly surprised to find the layout easily accesssible.

Clean, Beautiful but with a few flaws

Lovely Hotel, in the heart of the fun area of Daytona. If with family, built in free amenities of pool, lazy river, golf a real plus. Wi-Fi forget about it HORRIBLE, with everyone walking around aimlessly trying to pick up a signal in random places of the hotel. Spring break a plus here for the youth, but if youre an adult single you certainly want to look elsewhere during this time. Nice to not worry about cars on this section of the beach. Room was beautiful, Front Check in/out not as friendly and they grab you for the whole time share thing, but you net a $100 Visa debit card if you have a few hours to review their program. Location is perfect, but if you need WiFi...definitely look elsewhere.

Traveler's tip on shopping

no car? take the shuttle bus from the garage across the street that leaves every 45 mins or so. Ride it North to BelAir Shopping center, Publix, stock up on your food for the room. 1.25 pp well worth the savings of eating out each night. Bargain at the small gift shops, they all stock virtually the same things. For better quality (but no negotiating) Maui Nix is the choice...use SUNSCREEN! Enjoy.

When I called for room service, I was told there was a washer and dryer in the room.

Location!

My husband and I were at this hotel for Bike Week. It was a perfect location! We loved the accommodations,everything was great. Can’t wait till next year.

Hotel is the nices hotel in Daytona have stayed at them all, It is more of a condo lease out no coffee ect

Not Impressed

Upon check in we were not given the proper room i.e. oceanview w/ balcony. The room was also not furnished with enough towels, blankets, no sheets for the pull-out and 1 pillow.

This hotel is really nice, i had stayed here four years ago, and i plan to stay here again in march, it its not cheap, but its worth it..

Disappointed

I was very disappointed with my room. I’d stayed at the hotel as a timeshare guest in April, had a beautiful well-maintained room and was excited to return. However, I did not know that hotel guests were not given the same rooms as timeshare owners, even though the facility wanted me to buy into the facility. For example, I reserved a two bedroom room, however when I checked in I was not given the key to my "second" room and had to return. In my main room three of the burners on the stove did not work, one of the walls had obviously been repaired but not repainted, there was no dvd player though advertised, the tv in the living room was a 15" with no connections for a dvd player, the doors to the bedroom and bathroom kept closing by themselves, the HVAC unit was extremely noisy, the towels were threadbare, the power button on the in the bedroom was missing, the shower curtain was dirty, old and faded and the sofa was sunken in. When I checked out and wanted to speak to someone about the problems I wsa told I’d have to wait an additional 15 minutes as the person waiting on me was not responsible for rented rooms.

Wonderful experience!

This hotel is in the center of Daytona Beach and offers something for everyone. There were ramps for my parents to easily access the beach area and plenty of water activities for my 9 year old nephew. Be aware that the hotel does not guarantee that multiple rooms will be on the same floor. To get your rooms closer together, talk to someone at the front desk, outside of the sales department. Check-in begins at 4:00 pm. Also, be prepared to carry your luggage to your room as luggage carriers are few. The service was expedient and excellent when our balcony lock broke and the air conditioner needed a new part. Once we were settled in, the fun began! We had an awesome time at the Wyndham Ocean Walk and plan to visit again!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

One evening we went to Hogheaven for some Southern BBQ and Baked Beans. They offer a varied menu and it is wonderful! Winn-Dixie is down A1A for the extras. Another tip: If you drive to the pier, park in the 7.00 parking lot and get a ticket for a free ride on the chair lift. Pricier: Try Inlet Harbor Restaurant down A1A for a seafood dinner. You can find their menu on the internet. First come, first serve. If you have time, visit the Lighthouse while there.

everything was broken...

Everything was broken at this hotel: the coffee maker, the tub, the hairdryer, the elevator, the chairs on the balcony, the slide at the pool, the walkway to the shops next door, the pool tables in the game room, the pinball machine, and more! The children activities were conducted by the rudest (and kinda scary) personnel- if they don’t like kids, they should’ve found another job.

Great vacation for the money

We stayed at the Wyndham Ocean Walk during July peak season and had a great time. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful and our room was as promised. There were little things that were broken ( the spray nozzle on the sink, one of the burners on the stove, the tub drained really slow) but nothing that made our vacation any less great. The pools were spacious and heated and the kiddy pool was great for the kids. I would recommend this hotel and stay there again myself.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Do not purchase things at the hotel’s eatery and gift shop!! We forgot to bring swim diapers for our 6 month old and had to buy one for $3. Just one! Bring your own food and supplies or make a visit to the local Wal-Mart. You’ll find it much cheaper!

Would love to go back for longer

We had a great time and wished we could have stayed for longer. The hotel was relatively clean (there was a little sand here or there, but I mean, it’s Daytona Beach, you know?). We had a little trouble finding a luggage cart at first and we rescued a group of people from the Ocean Walk Shoppes because they didn’t realize they had to step away from the door after inserting their key at night. It seems that all the recent complaints people had about the rooms were due to misunderstandings. Customer Service was great, we got the room we asked for (Ocean front), and everyone was very helpful. However, if you do want to park in the garage, you need to come in before like 9 pm, or you have to park across the street. You have to pay the parking fees, but the hotel has no problem with refunding your money for it. Overall, we had a great stay (on our honeymoon) and wouldn’t hesitate to come again for a longer stretch and enjoy the beach a bit more.

Disappointed

Beach and pool are were great. Ocean front view from the room fantastic. Not enough elevators for this size resort. Spent more time than necessary waiting for elevator. Given the wrong room at check-in (overheard several guests discussing the same happened to them). We were not told of or given the card to charge food, etc. to our room. When ATM machine failed to give the money stated on the receipt, hotel staff were not helpful at all in knowing what to do. Rooms are in need of maintence (i.e. bathroom cabinet door falling off). Resort staff are not customer service oriented. Will stay elsewhere when we return to the beach.

It’s like being in jail and getting charged way to much money for it.
