16 night stay
As an English speaking American in a large German city, the staff at the Dorint went above and beyond to assist with all our needs. All of the desk staff spoke English remarkably well, as well as the wait staff in the restaurants. The pool/spa area is super. Just one comment for families... many of the young men who used the spa, did so au naturel, as is common (I’m told) in Germany. (I saw no women do the same.) I actually saw very few children at the hotel during our stay. The restaurant food was excellent, although a little pricy.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
The incredible tram system runs right outside the front door of the hotel. Using this system to get around the city cost us around 6 euros a day. It’s a little confusing at first, but the staff will help you learn the ropes.

Don’t drink at the bar.
The bartender was rude, overcharged for drinks, and if it wasn’t for the manager we would have gotten stiffed for 130 euros for 7 drinks. That is unheard of for rum and coke.

Pleasant stay
The hotel met all my expectations: clean, quite and with very helpful staff. When I requested, good city guides were provided, as well as extra blanquets, very promptly. The restaruant is good for dinner, and not overpriced. I would certainly recommend it.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The hotel is 500 meters from Kolnarena (where we attended a marvellous Andre Rieu concert). Easy walking to Dom (30 minutes). Visit Richard Confiteria in front of Dom (delicious and beautiful).
