Most Impressed!
From the warm welcome of the "door men" to the wait staff in the restaurants and bars; we had the best of service! It is a destination! No reason to leave the property. It has it all! The surrounding towns do not have much to offer, so I advise to stay at the hotel and rest and relax, play golf, and enjoy their ammenities!

Beautiful Location - Great Golf - Great Town, Half Moon Bay
We stayed at the Four Seasons in Palo Alto for two nights before moving to The Ritz at Half Moon Bay for three nights and I have to say we thought the Four Seasons was better. If you are at the Ritz for the golf it is a great place to stay, there is very little else at the hotel to do. The swimming pool is indoors and a hike from the hotel, there are no comfortable lounge chairs outside to just sit and read and enjoy the views. We did enjoy our firepit outside our room and we did use the spa although not as nice or as convenient as the Four Seasons. Everything at the Ritz does cost a lot, no surprise but it would be nice to see better value, for example breakfast does it really need to cost that much? It was foggy most of the time and cool but still a lovely setting. I would go back to play golf.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
We ate at Pasta Moon for two nights in row. We thought if you have found great food why stray and we were more impressed by the value and quality the second night. Great spot do not miss it make a reservation.

First class
Class you would expect from the Ritz. Only wish they had a driving range at the courses.
