Not the place to stay in the summer
We stayed at the lodge for a long 4 day weekend in August. The location is great. We had two major issues at the lodge. Because it is in the mountains, they do not have air conditioning which is understandable. We love sleeping with the windows open anyway. The problem is that noise from the plaza was terrible. The drunks were out until 2:00 am and the vendors started rolling in 7:00 am. This lodge only offers maid service once a week. During our stay, we never saw a maid, which meant no new towels, bedding or toiletries. We had to go buy shampoo and soap. Not a big deal, I just expect more at the price level of this lodge.
Traveler's tip on dining
The Tabernash Tavern, about 6 miles down the road, is wonderful. I will make a special trip to go back there when we are in the area.

Best hotel/condo in WP
We’ve stayed in 3 different hotels or condos in previous years, but the Zypher is far superior to any others. The kitchen was huge, and well stocked with pots & pans. Lovely furnishings and super easy on and off slopes. We’ll never stay anywhere but the Zypher in the future.
playground is right on sight at Zypher, plus the ice skating rink can be used with just snow boots.

Great Mountain Getaway
Excellent hotel, great location to all the activities on the mountain. Walking distance to some very nice restaurants and ice cream shop. My kids loved it. Rode bikes along the Fraser River into Winter Park. We will do this again next summer!
