a good deal in Colombo
The Hilton Colombo Residence offers apartment-like suites that include a kitchen that contains all of the essentials including a good-size refrigerator. Supermarkets are within walking distance, and that helps with the daily expenses for food. The hotel has a nice pool and a great gym (free weights and treadmills along with a steam room and a sauna). The staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. The restaurants inside of the hotel are of good quality and offer a mix of western and local food. Again, what impressed me most was that the suites were spacious and included a kitchen.

Good value and great pool
I stayed here two weeks. Swimming pool was excellent - about 25m long, clean, lane markers. Restaurant food acceptable. Suites were huge and well-equipped. Service always excellent. Furnishings were old, however, and the room often smelled musty. But price was unbelievably low.
