Very satisfactory
In spite of having read bad reviews of this hotel, my husband and I were favorably impressed. Good location, clean comfortable suite, quiet room. The public areas are looking tired, but that was unimportant to us. The location was convenient to our meeting hotel, which could not accommodate us in rooms for our entire time.

Its Getting Better
Ive stayed here 3 or 4 times (usually once a year). I stay here because its within walking distance to the Town Ballroom. The hotel is under much needed renovations - the rooms were seriously dated. My room (although the hallways were still in the process of being renovated) had already been renovated and I was pretty impressed with how it turned out. Art, lamps, chairs and furniture were current, clean and comfortable. All the rooms in this hotel are 1 king sized bed with "french" doors that open into a living room area with a sofa, coffee table, desk, chair and ottoman, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and flat screen tv in the bedroom. the bathroom is large, lots of counterspace, tile floors, marble tops. Such a HUGE improvement from years passed. I actually enjoyed my room this year when in the past it was just a place to crash.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Town Ballroom has some decent shows. Hysterical dive bar: electric avenue (i think its on Mohawk)

Pleasant surprise!
This hotel was much nicer than I expected it to be, based on their own description on their website. The room decorations were clean, simple and modern. The separate bedroom had french doors off the living room, there was a nice dressing area between the bathroom, the kitchenette was really nice. I was there on business, so I also appreciated the big desk, aeron-type chair, and free wi-fi. Also, there is a TGIFridays downstairs, which I didnt see on the website, and you get a discount as a hotel guest. Even though downtown Buffalo was a little sketchy, this hotel was a surprising oasis.
