ok
Hotel was in a convient location, everything was acceptable not great. Had to search for a valet, the women at the front desk was employed in the wrong positon, she was the antithesis of customer service. Overall, good hotel but they need to upgrade services. One great service the hotel provides is a free shuttle bus to area restaraunts and venues.
Hugos food was amazing. A real treasure. Fore Street is also fabulous. Evangalines is within walking distance and is a great casual place for dinner. Great shopping on Exchange street-Unbelievable sweaters and jackets at Serendipitys at 34 Exchange street. Super nice people.

Old and a Little Worn
This hotel is well past its prime, it needs a major update to the facilities. The staff try hard and the location is very convenient, but the neighborhood is also a little the worse for wear. We were aroused by two fire alarms in one night (1 AM and 6 am) and given no information about what was going on other than to stand in the street in the cold milling about. We like to try interesting (non-obvious chain) hotels but I wouldnt go here again.
See above, the Floating restaurant is oversold but okay.

Really nice enterance way... too bad thats it
I use to really like this place. It was the first place my wife and I stayed when we were dating. It was also the place we spent the night we got engaged to each other. Unfortunately my recent stays with the Eastland have been bad enough to offset all these wonderful memories. This past stay found me in a smoking room (when a non-smoking way requested) that was not properly cleaned (chip wrappers and scrap paper behind tables and chairs) with a bathroom door that was unable to be closed (because the door did not fit inside the jam). And to top all of it off, three seperate unrequested fire alarm wakeup calls at 2:30 AM, 4:00 AM, and 8:30 AM. Like I said I use to really enjoy this hotel. Now I just hope someone buys it and makes it as nice as my memory recollects or wish it was...
