Not at all impressed

Hotel staff were friendly but not generally helpful when it came to dealing with anything related to the accomodations. Our room for first night was small and cramped with no air conditioning -- a problem given that it was quite hot in London (humid and above 30C and the room even hotter). Upon request, they gave us a small fan which could only be place at the other end of the room (no wall outlets). We were picking up our daughter at Heathrow the following day and they planned to place another bed in an already overcrowded room. We demanded the room type we had originally booked which they agreed to provide. We had to move all our bags into storage (no help offered by staff) and then had to move it up to the new room (again no help from staff). The room we moved to did have an air conditioner but it did not work. We tried to call that evening for assistence but there was no answer at the desk. We called the next morning, got maintenance to check it out and they concluded it did not work but did nothing to rectify the problem. Upon checkout, they were kind enough to not charge us for the separate charge for the use of the air conditioner remote control. Overall, the location was good but the stay was totally unacceptable and they did nothing to make our situation better. I would not recommend this hotel. The price/value ratio was very poor.

good base for a budget trip

The room was clean. staff friendly and helpful. The room was small with only a small place to sit. It was a little cramped for two people. But we were there to see london not the room. The bathroom was very small. Only one person can fit at a time. But it was in a good area with little places to eat near by, and a few little grocery stores also. The bus stop is just a few steps down the street. It’s located in a nice neigborhood. We enjoyed our London vacation with Days Inn as our base.

Can’t wait to go back

Despite the reviews that stated "small rooms" - hey, this is Europe - rooms are the same everywhere:) Hotel is clean, location is great. We stayed 5 days - and we loved it.

Nice, economical Hotel

The hotel was nice, actually much better than we expected. We had a Triple room and had much more space than we expected. The hotel was clean, well maintained, and in a good area. It was difficult to control the water temperature for showers - ranged from too cold-to-too hot. We stayed in June during a warm spell. Airconditioning is an additional fee, which we were glad to pay for. The breakfast available at the hotel is not very good and overpriced, so I don’t recommend paying the extra fee to add it to your room. Victoria Station is an easy 5 minute walk from the hotel and takes you to anywhere the buses, underground, or trains go. There are also several restaraunts in Victoria Station. We would stay at this hotel again!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Get the London Pass. It includes trasportaion around London on the buses, underground, and trains. It also includes admission into several quality attractions. We saved a lot of money over cost of at the gate admissions and daily transportation. Very convenient to not have to wait in lines, too.

Its okay for the price

Staff was a little unfriendly when registering. Room was very very small like a box. Very clean and new. I would request to see the room before checking in.

Stay if it’s all you can afford.

It’s called Days Inn because the longest you can stay without feeling cramped and sticky is a day. Sure it’s walking distance from a bunch of stuff, but so are a lot of other hotels on the street. The dollar is weak compared to the pound, so if this is all you can afford, you’ll survive, and maybe even enjoy your view of a neighboring brick wall and the mildewy smell of your bathroom.

Not Impressed

The hotel room was fairly clean with the exception of the blood on the bed spread. I should have asked about air conditioning which it did not have.

Just so so!

I found the staff less than friendly. The tube was down and thus more transportation advice was needed, I feel the staff should have been more understanding. The lift did not feel real reliable. Phones were poor. Overpriced!

Traveler's tip

The hotel is not as close to transportation as advertised.

It is OK for the price, do not expect more

Good location, 10 min walk from Victoria station. Typical breakfast: eggs, bagels, sausage, serials, apples. No air-condition in our room, but some rooms have it for extra price. Window was broken and it was impossible to lock it open without something to put under frame. Fortunately, weather in August was not so hot. We told maintenance about this problem, but window remained broken during our stay for 3 days and when we left.

Days Inn Westminster Uk

This is a very clean and well kept hotel. It’s only two short blocks to the Pimlico underground station and a bit longer but still short walk to Victoria station which has an express train to Gatwick airport.

Traveler's tip

This hotel is not in downtown London but close enough. It is in a rather very nice and friendly neighborhood. Do try the local spots for breakfast and the local pubs for a few pints and good conversation

Nice Street

The hotel was very small but in a central location about 1/2 mile from Victoria Station and near most attractions. We only had 3 hrs to see London (we had been to 7 cities and 3 countries in 8 days!). Surprisingly enough, we got to see most major points of interest(and on foot). We saw the Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, Picadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, the Parliament Building and Big Ben, and even Dawning street (I believe the day we were there was Tony Blair’s last day in office --that was cool!). We walked quite a bit though (probably over 5 miles).

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Have breakfast at the hotel --it’s not terribly expensive, but it is a good English breakfast and a nice start to a day of walking. Also wear comfortable shoes! If you have more time, a tour may be your best option (we took one in Paris and loved it!).

Tough review

This hotel was nice for the price. Location is tough in London. I do not know where I would recommend to stay for location. I wasn’t sure what we wanted to see or do so I would recommend for first trip to London. I would stay their again. If you have a room with a bathtub/shower be very careful as tub is very slippery when taking a shower. Don’t forget a washcloth from home if you prefer to use them. In London they do not provide them. Bath and shower gel provided however hard to use with out a cloth. If you prefer bar soap you need to bring you own.

A nice place to stay.

We found our room comfortable for three people. Even though it was old , the hotel was clean. Hotel clerk was very accomodating for our questions. It was in a good location for walking for site seeing, places to eat. It felt safe.

Pretty Good, But Hotel Staff Need Some Improvement

Found the Room to be clean and adequate for the price. Main frustration was the Hotel cleaning staff gave no thought to commandeering the elevator to suit their cleaning purposes. Hotel staff not so good at speaking English; they gave no thought to blocking the elevator while visitors lugged their luggage up the stairs.

Adequate

If traveling by train, hotel is pretty close to station, if a little hard to locate. Reasonably priced, with a number of restaurant/pub choices in vicinity, and close to several theaters.

Cheap for a reason

The location was great. It was a three minute walk to the Pimlico tube station. Maybe a 6-7 minute walk to the Thames. A lot of cheap shops right around the corner. The only thing that this hotel has going for them is the location. The staff didn’t really make an impression. I saw housekeeping and she was nice. And at the reception desk - the guest services clerk nice as well. I had no real problems that I needed them for. And I was hardly ever in my room. The room was quite small, with an even smaller bathroom. I am small as well, but turning around in the bathroom was difficult. Elbows would hit the shower walls. You could stand in one place and touch the toilet, sink and shower at the same time. It was like a hole in a wall. If felt like a hostel. If you really only need a place to keep your stuff - then I guess I do recommend, but if you want quality and comfort in your stay - then no.

Nice place to stay in Westminster

We had a great room, with a wonderful bathroom and shower. Room was larger than expected and beds were quite comfortable. The front desk was very helpful and referred us to a nearby Pub for lunch. It was perfect! Within walking distance of Victoria Station and Pimlico. Nice neighborhood and quiet.

Traveler's tip on dining

Familiarize yourself with the area; there is much close enough to walk to. You can always find a taxi, as well. Several nice dining places within two blocks.
