Hotel offers only the basics
The best thing that the Hotel de la Fontaine offers is its location - very near the Mediterranean and also restaurants, shops, and the walking streets. Rooms are very small; accommodations sparse; towels are thin and bathroom small. Eat out for breakfast due to expense, although the breakfast/bar area is attractive. There is a small lift. Staff was generally friendly and helpful.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Take Bus 100 to Monaco/Monte Carlo for the day. It’s a 45-60 minute trip, but the views are fantastic as it follows the coastline. The Barracuda Restaurant had excellent food and is not far from the hotel. Visit Florian for the candied fruit and flowers.

la fontaine hotel with his location one minute from Promenade des anglais and from Rue de Pieton with this price ,i think is affordable for all people

At least it was a good location...
My husband and I recently stayed in this hotel and it was just ok. The rooms are small to say the least with nothing more than a bed, closet and miniature bathroom. I was happy that the bed was actually a double and not two twins pushed together. The hotel is in a very convenient location as the walk to the beach is only 1 block. There are plenty of restaraunts around and I advise you to eat at them for breakfast. This meal is NOT complimentary and is 10 Euros A PERSON ($15 at the current rate) for nothing more than bread and hard boiled eggs. The staff was curteous but not overly friendly or helpful. I sat in a chair that had been recently painted with no signs posted or notice from the staff. When this was brought to the staff member’s attention he basically just shrugged. When we told another staff member as we were checking out she was not apologetic and offered nothing to make up for it. She said her manager would contact me and we left an email and 2 phones numbers...still no word. Basically this hotel is decent but look for another with more friendly staff and eat breakfast out!
